Post Malone thinks there’s some foul play here, eh?
The Super Bowl LIX is kicking off, and so is the party. As fans sit on their couches with a cold one in one hand and some pizza, buffalo chicken dip, queso, or other gameday food in the other, things are officially underway.
But before the coin flipped to see who would kick off Super Bowl LIX, there was a party happening outside of the stadium. Music events like Zac Brown, Post Malone, and many more occurred throughout the week leading up to the big game. Malone was one of the few artists who made multiple stage appearances ahead of kick-off having his “Bud Light Backyard” concert, where Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith was seen double-fisting drinks while singing “Congratulations,” and he performed at the Super Bowl 2025 Tailgate Concert.
Although Malone is a well-known Dallas Cowboys fan, he appeared to make a jab at the Kansas City Chiefs during his Tailgate Concert performance. Before he broke into his hit single featuring Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” Malone made a comment to the crowd that made it appears like he suspects some favoritism going into the game.
“I wrote this song about the Chiefs and the referees.”
After that, he acts like nothing he said would p*ss off Chiefs’ fans and went right into the first lyric.
Of course, NFL fans speculate that the league is letting the Chiefs continue to succeed so they can keep the revenue from Taylor Swift’s appearances. It’s no secret that the NFL hit marketing gold when Travis Kelce began dating the international pop star. Her game appearances turned into an even bigger cash cow for the NFL with more women watching than ever, and the NFL has been loving it.
Her interest in the game (and her boyfriend) has unlocked a new viewing demographic.
Many fans felt before the AFC Championship that it was a rigged game if the Chiefs won. And when the Chiefs did win the AFC Championship, those comments were heightened.
Honestly, given that Post Malone is such a stand-up guy 99% of the time and is so kind to his fans and musical colleagues, I am not mad at him for throwing a little shade at the Chiefs.
We know who Posty is rooting for…fly Eagles, fly.
Malone fans loved the comment and are blowing up the clip on social media. Check out a few replies before you go.
