Whyley’s story encapsulates what solidified my love for Taylor. I loved Taylor for who she was, but my loyalty became undying when I knew she stood by my being.
She really is a kind soul.
“Are You Ready For It,” is a typically a female dancer only introduction to the reputation set. Taylor’s Eras Tour is very gender fluid, so it being the only gender based number, did hold weight on allowing a male dancer to participate.
Taylor allowing Whyley to shine in that role may seem so minuscule, but it meant everything to Whyley, and anyone who has ever felt like Whyley. He felt seen and celebrated, when for so long he felt isolated and unwanted, before working with Taylor.

He took Amanda Balen’s spot that night. Wore her outfit. And all of that was with the support and push from his teammate Amanda wanting him to have that moment.
She wanted her teammate to shine.
We could all dream to be like Whyley. To succeed to new heights against all odds. To have a boss like Taylor. And to have a teammate like Amanda.
We shine brightest when we shine together.
