The country superstar shared a clip of his reaction to McDonald’s vocals on “We Go Back,” a collaboration that appears on Urban’s upcoming yacht rock album. Urban hailed McDonald “the king of yacht rock,” as he shared that he called McDonald asking him to sing on the sole original track on the project. And “he said yes.”

Urban recently announced his 11-track album, Flow State, which “revisits the breezy, laid-back sounds of classic yacht rock tunes for a reinvigorated collection of the timeless songs that will have us lathering up the sunscreen and blending drinks all summer long,” a press release states. Flow State also features collaborations with Little Big Town and John Mayer.

“The origins of this kind of music was, in certain ways, a reaction and an antidote to the stresses of the times,” Urban, who recently made an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show, said in a statement. “Its sole mission (and soul mission) is unchanged…to bring us together and remind us that life is happening NOW- the eternal now- and we have far more in common than not. I hope wherever you hear this album you can feel the exhale, comfort and optimism these songs were originally written by and for.”
