The scary movie franchise is officially back. Twenty-six years after the first film hilariously skewered the horror genre, Scary Movie 6 reunites fan favorites Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans for a fresh round of outrageous horror parody.
After years without the franchise’s original comedic flavor, the Wayans brothers are returning to restore the over-the-top satire that made Scary Movie a pop culture phenomenon in 2000. With a brand-new teaser trailer now released online, horror fans can expect a no-holds-barred roast of today’s biggest fright films.

Scary Movie Trailer
The first teaser trailer for Scary Movie 6 debuted in theaters ahead of Scream 7 on February 27 before being released online by Paramount Pictures on March 2.
The footage wastes no time diving into modern horror hits. Among the films getting spoofed are: M3GAN, Terrifier, Halloween, The revivedScream, The Substance and Weapons. Watch the trailer below.
Cast + Plot
The heart of the franchise has always been Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, played by Anna Faris and Regina Hall — and both are officially back. Their return marks the first time since 2006 that the core cast has reunited on screen.
Paramount Pictures
Marlon and Shawn Wayans, who wrote and starred in the first two installments (directed by their brother Keenen Ivory Wayans), are also returning creatively. After stepping away following Scary Movie 2, the brothers aim to bring back what Marlon has described as the original “Wayans flavor” that fans felt was missing from later sequels.
While full plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to follow Cindy and Brenda as they once again find themselves entangled in a series of ridiculous horror scenarios — this time inspired by today’s most talked-about genre hits. Expect exaggerated jump scares, outrageous pop culture references and plenty of fourth-wall-breaking jokes.
Release Date
Scary Movie 6 is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026. With the original creative team back, the upcoming scary movie installment could mark a major revival for the parody franchise.
