At less than a year old, Rihanna’s daughter, Rocki, is officially a cover girl, dressed in Dior alongside her mom on the cover of W magazine’s Pop Issue. It marks the first photo of Rocki that Rihanna has shared since she announced her baby girl’s birth seven months ago in September.

Rihanna raved about her daughter’s editorial work, writing on Instagram, “Cover girrrrrlz!!! Baby Rocki served sumn serious on her first cover! Came on set and shut her mama dowwwnn!!!!”

Rihanna didn’t give an interview to W magazine, but many of her friends, peers, and loved ones spoke about her to the publication, including her partner and Rocki’s dad, A$AP Rocky.

The rapper discussed how Rihanna has changed since they met. (Rocky and Rihanna were longtime friends before they were first reported to be dating in late 2020.)

Rocky highlighted the impact of their three children, Rocki, RZA, and Riot, on her, saying, “She has changed a lot because she became a mother in that time span, and that certainly changes you. But this woman has always been magic. Philosophically, the way she operates is on another level. She is the most charming and genuine person on Earth. Her energy is unmatched—one of a kind. I just adore her.”

He also shed rare light on their home life, revealing they’re big movie fans. Generally, he said, “we have so many of the same interests. We were addicted to watching documentaries, like the Bob Marley one. Watching films together is so fun. We must’ve watched El Cantante 15 times.”

Both Rihanna and Rocki wear Dior haute couture on their cover. Rocki had a special diaper and headpiece made.

House creative director Jonathan Anderson detailed how Rihanna’s vision shaped the look, telling W, “The haute couture diaper is definitely a first for Dior. When Rihanna asks for something, she is already ahead of what is happening. She is thinking outside the box. When she has an idea, I’m always trusting in the process. I trust her implicitly on anything she feels that is right to do.”

He explained what she’s like as a house ambassador. “She knows exactly who she is and what works on her,” he said. “She knows how to interpret your creative vision and make it her own.”
