Neymar’s personal chef is suing the Brazilian after claiming she was made to work 16 hour days, which involved her having to sometimes feed up to 150 people such was his massive entourage.

She also alleges that she suffered physical injuries preparing the food at one of Neymar’s residences in Rio de Janeiro. The ex-Barcelona star returned to his homeland in the summer following a nightmare spell in Saudi Arabia and has made himself at home in Rio de Janeiro’s Mangaratiba municipality.

He owns two villas and it is at Casa Hotel Portobello, that the chef who is suing Neymar worked for him between July 2025 to this February.

She has filed a lawsuit at the Regional Labor Court of the 1st Region with Brazilian outlet Metropoles claiming to have seen her court documents. The chef alleges that she worked 16-hour days for Neymar, which led to her having to feed both the player and up to 150 of his friends and associates on a daily basis.

The initial contract stated she would work between 7am and 5pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and 7am and 4pm on Fridays, but the chef claims that she often worked until 11pm or midnight, and on weekends. She is also thought to have worked through her legally mandated lunch hour.

The chef claims she sustained physical injuries from the demands of her job, which included carrying pieces of meat weighing roughly 10 kilos each and loading and unloading heavy bags. She is alleged to have suffered back problems and hip inflammation.

As a result Neymar’s former chef, who was paid £1,065 per month (7,500 Brazilian reais), is looking to receive £37,544 (262,000 Brazilian reais) to account for severance payments, fines, additional overtime and payment for breaks, damages, and her medical expenses.

Her third-party employer, who hired her on behalf of Neymar, is also named as a defendant. The forward declined to comment to Brazilian outlets when approached regarding the situation.

Neymar signed a contract extension with Santos, the club where he began his career, last June. Across the course of the season the 34-year-old is thought to have made £11.8million, with his new deal giving him a share of sponsorships and investments generated by his team, who have benefited financially from his return.
