Dominik Szoboszlai’s girlfriend has sent the footballer a message of support after he played in a World Cup qualifier game against Portugal last night. The Hungarian international captains the country and is a key player in the national side.

The midfielder has also proved vital for the Reds since their Premier League campaign kicked off last month. Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over Premier League rivals Arsenal in a gripping game at Anfield on Sunday, August 31, meaning the side went into the International break top of the table.

Szoboszlai scored the only goal of the match, lifting the roof of Anfield after a thunderous free-kick landed in the top corner from more than 30 yards out. The victory means Liverpool have continued with their winning start in the Premier League, having won three from three.

Goalscorer Szoboszlai has been playing at right-back, due to Jeremie Frimpong being injured and Conor Bradley returning to full fitness. His wife shared a video of the Premier League player to Instagram Stories last night, showing her support before the 3-2 defeat to Portugal.

The video of Szoboszlai shaking hands with Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo was captioned “Your moment baby”, the Liverpool FC player married Borka Buzsik in a ceremony in March this year.

Szoboszlai’s wife, Borka, has a degree in business administration and management in 2022 from Corvinus University of Budapest and now has a successful career.

As well as being an influencer, she is a specialist in marketing and public relations. She has collaborated with major brands such as Calzedonia and H&M and works at the Hungarian company Toman, which promotes a healthy diet and lifestyle, according to Tribuna.

Szoboszlai announced the news his wife was expecting in May when he shared a series of polaroid of the happy couple cradling Borka’s baby bump. He captioned the post: “3 of us.”

After the Arsenal game, Szoboszlai shared a photo holding his newborn daughter in his arms, writing “One and only” as the caption. Last month, the midfielder shared the news that he and his partner Borka had welcomed a new member into their family.

When he announced the birth earlier this month, a black and white photo of his hand holding his new baby daughter was uploaded. In a joint announcement with Borka, the 24-year-old said: “Your birth means the world to me. Thank you, my love for bringing her into our life!”

Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2023 and has gone on to be a key player for the the Reds. The Hungarian was a key player in Arne Slot’s side last season as the Reds went on to lift their 20th league title.

The Kop favourite will be returning to Premier League action on Sunday, September 14, as Liverpool take on Burnley away from home. Speaking after the match-winning free-kick taken in front of the Kop against Arsenal, Szoboszlai told Liverpoolfc.com: “Well, luckily since we started the season we could practice some free-kicks.

“I felt this was a little bit further. I was like, ‘I’ll take a risk.’ I was confident in myself so I tried it. Finally! Long time ago. It was a long time ago [I last scored one], when you practice all the time. To be honest, I should mention Trent [Alexander-Arnold] because, as you know, he was taking the free-kicks because obviously he has an unbelievable shot. But finally I could have my chance and did it.”
