Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR is a comic series that Netflix announced for a movie adaptation, but we haven’t received any updates since. Well, in a surprising move, the director of BRZRKR seems to have decided to give the world a promising update after John Wick: Chapter 4.
Speaking with ScreenRant, director Justin Lin (most famously known for directing the Fast & Furious franchise) revealed that he has been working alongside The Batman II writer Mattson Tomlin and Keanu Reeves to bring the vision of BRZRKR to life.
I can tell you that I am at a point in my career right now where time and efficiency is driving all my decisions and the people that I want to work with, and that’s one of my favorite projects.
He continued,
I would say that I’ve been very fortunate that, as I’m talking to you now, I get to work with these amazing people. I’m really looking forward to my next chapter as a filmmaker.
Well, considering the comic book series’ premise, BRZRKR will probably be the new John Wick franchise.
What is Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR About?

What originally started as a 12-episode issue raised over $1.4 million in terms of Kickstarter money. The story, originally written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, was sent over to Boom! Studios, while the studio raised the money for publishing the comic book.
Raising a record-breaking amount of money, the story of BRZRKR follows an immortal named B or BRZRKR. Having a lust for violence or destruction, B has followed centuries of warfare, leaving a bloodied trail in his wake.
In the present, B finds himself working for the U.S. government, completing missions too violent or too dangerous for anyone else, in hopes of learning more about where he came from and how to end his cycle.
BRZRKR Might Be Bad News For John Wick And Keanu Reeves’ Career

Well, it’s not every day that you see Keanu Reeves starring in an iconic project (since the actor has a select few). However, considering the similarity between the John Wick franchise and the BRZRKR adaptation, it might seem that Reeves’ career could be in trouble.
With the popularity and fame that the John Wick franchise has received, Reeves has been somewhat seen as the one-man-army hero. Associated with phonk music and any weapon that he could find, Reeves has already been somewhat pigeon-holed in a role similar to John Wick.
However, with the upcoming release of BRZRKR, Keanu Reeves’ pigeonhole will be tighter, as B is just John Wick, but with swords and guns. Although the world would indeed love to see BRZRKR get an adaptation, it might prove harmful to Keanu Reeves’ career in the long run.
