It’s the Senator and a rock star from Sayreville.

Jon Bon Jovi will join Sen. Cory Booker 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark for a talk on Booker’s new book “Stand,” an “urgent call to action rooted in enduring American ideals,” according to publisher St. Martin’s Press.

Bon Jovi and Booker will engage in “conversation designed to inspire hope, unity, and positive action,” according to the NJPAC. “This unique event offers attendees the rare opportunity to gain insights from Senator Booker and Jon Bon Jovi about America’s future, the importance of shared values, moral courage, and our collective responsibility as citizens.”

The evening does not include musical performance. Tickets, $35 to $59, are on sale now via www.njpac.com.

“Stand” by Booker will go on sale Tuesday, March 24. Pre-signed copies of “Stand” be available for purchase at the event for $29. Purchases can be made through www.njpac.com as facilitated by Bookends in Ridgewood.

Bon Jovi’s connection with Booker goes back to when the Senator was mayor of Newark.

“When I was mayor, Jon helped to build a lot of homes in Newark, including a lot of supportive housing for people with HIV and AIDS,” said Booker to the Asbury Park Press in 2016. “I talk to policy people in housing — he’s probably one of the most knowledgeable people I know about housing. He’s so loyal to New Jersey in quiet way that people don’t know, helping thousands and thousands of people.”

Bon Jovi is the head of the Soul Foundation and his Soul Kitchen community restaurants have several locations around the state. The rocker, 64, is a former member of the Obama White House Council for Community Solutions.

Upcoming, nine Bon Jovi comeback shows of the Forever Tour will take place in July at Madison Square Garden. The Jersey rockers announced an abbreviated international tour in October that begins with the Madison Square Garden run and includes shows in Edinburgh, Dublin and Wembley Stadium in London.

The band has not toured since 2022. Bon Jovi has had surgery on his vocal cords to correct problems that go back a decade.
