Avengers: Doomsday might just introduce Ghost Rider for the worst story beat that it possibly could, rumors suggest.
A rumor suggests that Ghost Rider might be making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe come Avengers: Doomsday. However, this might not be well for the character or his fans, given that it is likely the case that he will not be sticking around for too long.
Ghost Rider was a character that fans were very keen on seeing in the MCU, with the last big rumor about the character being that Nicolas Cage was actually going to appear in Multiverse of Madness as his version of the character. No such cameo occurred in the film, with the Illuminati consisting of mostly MCU cast characters, save Professor Charles Xavier.
Ghost Rider might be introduced to make Doctor Doom look like an actual threat

The introduction of Ghost Rider in Avengers: Doomsday might feel like good news, but the rumor suggests that the only reason a version of Ghost Rider is going to be brought into the MCU is to make Doctor Doom feel like more of a threat. Ghost Rider is one of the powerhouses of the Marvel Universe, but there are plenty of strong characters in the MCU that fans have no emotional attachment to and could fall to Doom to prove his power. Doing this to Ghost Rider might leave a very bad impression on fans.
In Infinity War, Thanos’ power was communicated by slaying Loki and also taking Thor out of commission. There are plenty of heroes in the MCU that could fall into this, and given that, in Infinity War‘s case, it was Loki, Doomsday could have a character from Spider-Man’s mythos to kill off to show Doom’s power. This would likely be the case, given that Doomsday would be immediately following Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Be it Ioan Gruffudd’s Mister Fantastic, Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider, or Ben Affleck’s Daredevil, there have been plenty of rumors about which characters could appear in Doomsday and Secret Wars. Given that Marvel has chosen to employ the X-Men from the Fox Universe in the MCU, fans hope to catch a glimpse of other characters from other Marvel films that were not set in the MCU.
This would be an interesting way to set up Secret Wars, and the universe that comes after. These cameos will definitely allow the MCU to top Endgame, allowing the franchise to really have its cake and eat it too. Actors like Jessica Alba, Eric Bana, and even Tom Hardy could make appearances as well, which would be something that would be bound to entertain fans, while also establishing the MCU as a powerhouse in Hollywood once again.
