ARIANA GRANDE is taking control of her career by launching a record label, BabyDoll Music, to release her new album Petal on July 31.
It means she will own the original master recordings to the tracks, which has become key in many artists’ careers.

Ariana was with Republic Records in the US and Island Records in the UK, but both deals are thought to have ended after her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine.
Now she has licensed the rights to Petal back to those labels, which essentially means they will do the leg work while she retains ownership.
An insider said: “Ariana has seen what happened with artists like Taylor Swift being taken advantage of with their masters, and has taken control.
“This new set-up means she can earn a lot more if it’s a success, and can do things exactly how she wants to.”

The new label’s name is believed to be a reference to the 1997 song Babydoll by Ariana’s idol Mariah Carey.
Petal is out in the middle of Ariana’s Eternal Sunshine tour, which kicks off on June 6. There’s no slowing her down.
Socials shunned by Swift

TAYLOR SWIFT is one of the most talked-about women on social media – not that she would know.
While she’s not gone full Ed Sheeran and stopped using a phone completely, the singer has deleted her apps.
Taylor said: “I don’t have social media on my phone.
“It looks like I’m just endlessly scrolling, but l’m scrolling through words – like, the words in my file that I thought of four years ago at three in the morning.”
She added: “There is a difference between art and going and ranting on Instagram live.
“This is a song, this takes craft, this takes expertise.”
Kind Josh trumpets his dad

Josh Groban told Bizarre’s Howell Davies that his favourite collaboration is with his dadCredit: Supplied
JOSH GROBAN has performed at the Olympics, Barack Obama‘s inauguration and most recently the Oscars.
But the most special collaboration to date comes on new album Cinematic – with his dad.
Bizarre’s Howell caught up with the singer in Notting Hill, London, on Tuesday at a playback for the album, which is out on May 8.
Josh discussed teaming up with Jack Groban on a cover of Moon River.
Jack played trumpet at uni in the Sixties but put it down to focus on work.
It came out again after Josh asked him to do a solo for the track.
He ended up recording it in Louis Armstrong’s favourite studio, Sunset Sound in LA, and used the jazz great’s mic and stool.
Josh said: “It’s my favourite. Here is myself and Jack Smoky Lips Groban.”

BILLIE EILISH looked every inch the boss as she rocked up to the premiere of her concert film, Hit Me Hard And Soft, in a sharp Celine suit and tie.
On the red carpet in Leicester Square, trainer-wearing Billie revealed her favourite Britishism: “I love like a weird-ass saying you guys have.
“My British guitarist said, ‘Fit as a fiddle’ and I was like, ‘Huh?’.”
Give it a week and she’ll be calling you mate and asking for a cuppa.

THE idea of facing Lord Sugar in the Celebrity Apprentice boardroom is nerve-racking, so it’s little wonder Alexandra Burke needed a hand to hold.
She was spotted keeping close to fellow candidate, actress Maddie Grace Jepson, as they headed out of a London hotel yesterday morning to take on another task.
DJ Spoony, Gethin Jones and Richie Anderson were also seen looking nervous as they waited to find out what was in store for them, ahead of the series airing later in the year.
Insiders told me the competition has been hotting up, adding: “The boardroom is getting seriously spicy but behind the scenes they’re all becoming mates.
“It’s going to be tough when Lord Sugar starts cutting them down.”
