There was even a confirmed story that Amy threw a $32,000 dress, a gift from the designer, onto a charcoal grill during a BBQ at her home.

According to Archie, the incident began around the end of 2006 at a private party attended by several famous figures of the time. This was also the first time Alexander McQueen met Amy Winehouse. However, the designer made inappropriate jokes that offended the singer.

Feeling guilty for his actions, after the party, Alexander sent Amy an expensive dress as a token of goodwill and hoped she would forgive him.

McQueen never once apologized directly to Amy, only sending the dress to the artist.

Although it wasn’t explicitly stated what the dress looked like or which collection it belonged to, many fashion enthusiasts speculated that this renowned designer’s “insincere” apology was from the Fall/Winter 2006 “The Widow of Culloden” collection or the Spring/Summer 2007 “Sarabande” collection.
