Amanda Balionis has separated from her former husband and is now documenting her egg-freezing journey on Instagram, giving her followers a rare look into her personal life

CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis is opening up to her 327,000 Instagram devotees with an intimate angle on her private life. She’s taking them along on her egg-freezing journey while she continues to ascend in her career.

The 39-year-old, who is now single after a split from her ex-husband last year, is still at the forefront of golf and NFL coverage. On a recent Instagram story, Balionis gave a glimpse of her fertility treatment regimen, showcasing meds like Menopur and Ganirelix Acetate — both identified by the Mayo Clinic as key drugs in fertility procedures.

Menopur helps with egg production, while Ganirelix stops early ovulation. The posts suggest she’s deep into the egg preservation process.

She also shared a peek at a sharps bin and a leaflet marked “Center for Reproductive Health Oncology,” signaling her choice of a high-caliber fertility clinic. Given her San Diego locale, it’s speculated she might be consulting with the California Center for Reproductive Medicine located in Encinitas

Balionis, widely known for her keen coverage in the golf world, took a playful jab at Donald Trump’s tariff policies by joking about egg shortages in her social media post. She then turned the conversation to a more personal topic, seeking her followers’ interest in her fertility journey with a poll offering a simple “Yes, please! ” or “Not for me,” all while keeping the vote count private.

Amidst her soaring career, intrigue around her personal life picked up, especially after golf enthusiasts mulled over her relationship status during the 2024 Masters. By March of that year, she had dropped “Renner” from her social handles, signaling a split from former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner.

Whispers arose about Balionis reportedly cozying up to Rory McIlroy during interviews at the Wells Fargo Championship, coincidentally when rumors swelled about McIlroy possibly divorcing his wife, Erica Stoll. Despite such murmurings, and the fact that McIlroy’s divorce never actually proceeded, both Balionis and McIlroy stayed quiet on the matter.

McIlroy’s subsequent recommitment to his marriage suggested that any lively exchange between him and Balionis was strictly in line with her professional role.

On the professional front, Balionis remains unfazed as she continues to excel in her reporting, recently bringing fresh insights from the Genesis Invitational. At this event, Ludvig Aberg celebrated his second PGA Tour win and nailed his first tournament hole-in-one, all under Balionis’ watchful eye.

McIlroy may have walked away with a T-17 finish and $217,715, yet it was Aberg’s show-stopping play that stole the spotlight — also expertly captured through Balionis’ lens.

“It was awesome, it was a great fight,” he exclaimed to her following his victory. “I felt like I was in control of the ball flight all day and really proud of the way that I finished. It was really cool.”

“The [par] putt on 12 was big because I think at that point the lead was at 12 [under], and it was a putt to stay at eight. It was so much fun coming down the last few holes trying to win a tournament. It is a really special feeling.”
