Clarkson ‘would really like’ the singer to appear on her show’s ‘Songs & Stories’ segment.

Kelly Clarkson revealed which of today’s pop stars she is “obsessed” with in a new video released by her daytime talk show, though the answer likely won’t be a surprise for fans who have been tuning in over the last several months.

The American Idol winner was tasked with guessing the identities of celebrities based off of old photos showing them as young children. In addition to gushing over throwback photos of Sabrina Carpenter, Daniel Radcliffe, Ariana Grande, Kelsea Ballerini and Olivia Rodrigo, Clarkson appeared thrilled to see an image of a young Chappell Roan pop up.

“I know that’s Chappell,” Clarkson, 42, declared in the video that her show posted on Instagram on Saturday, Feb. 22. “Oh my god, look at her little face! Oh. I knew her. I’m obsessed with her.”

While the “Stronger” singer said she has “never been that person that has to meet people that you love,” she said that she thought “it would be cool” to get to do so with the 27-year-old songstress, who earlier this month won her first-ever Grammy Award in the Best New Artist category at the 67th annual awards show.

Clarkson went on to suggest that the “HOT TO GO!” singer could participate in the “Songs & Stories” segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, despite being a younger artist. “It’s usually somebody that has more of a vast catalog,” Clarkson said. “But I would really like to do that with her.”

Clarkson has covered several of Roan’s songs since the release of the “Pink Pony Club” singer’s debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in the fall of 2023. With each cover, fans have sent waves of requests for the two artists to collaborate, either on Clarkson’s show or in the studio. The same wish echoed throughout the comment section of Saturday’s video post.

“The way this is proof that Chappell roan is in fact ‘your favorite artists favorite artist’ I would just love a collab with these two pretty pretty pleaseee,” one fan wrote as another agreed that a collaboration between the two “would be AMAZING.”

A few Instagram users tagged Roan’s account to underline their requests, with one writing, “ummmm yes to @chappellroan being on Songs & Stories! 🔥” as another commented, “@chappellroan for 👏Songs and Stories👏” and a third wrote, “@chappellroan do it.”

“I WOULD FREAKING DIE IF CHAPPELL ROAN WAS A GUEST OMG OMG OMG PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN I BEG 🔥🔥,” another fan urged.
