“I hear his voice every night, see him, remember us…”
Janet shared that every time she performs the song Scream – the legendary duet with Michael – she always feels as if she is reliving moments with her brother. She still hears his voice, sees his image on screen, and remembers the memories they shared.

“I feel like I’m transported back to the time when we created this song together, when Michael was facing a lot of pressure. I remember every moment, every lyric we recorded in his apartment in New York,” Janet recalled emotionally.

Janet shared that she was always a source of emotional support for Michael, especially during his toughest times. When Michael got caught up in legal troubles in the 1990s and 2000s, Janet never left her brother’s side.

“I was always there for him, always supporting and protecting him. That’s what I’ve done since we were kids and will always do until the end,” she said.

The pain of separation on the set of “Scream”
Although “Scream” is one of the most iconic collaborations between the two siblings, Janet revealed that the process of filming the music video was not as enjoyable as people think.

“Michael recorded at night, I recorded during the day. The record label set up barriers so I couldn’t see what was happening. I feel like they are intentionally creating competition between the two of us, while all I want is to be by his side like in the old days,” Janet said tearfully.

She admitted that this had hurt her, because for Janet, Scream was not just a song, but a way for her to stand beside Michael, fighting alongside him against the pressures of public opinion.

On June 25, 2009, the world was shocked by the news of Michael Jackson’s death at the age of 50. The cause was determined to be propofol intoxication—a powerful sedative. His personal doctor, Conrad Murray, was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

For many years after her brother’s death, Janet Jackson has continued to defend Michael’s legacy, despite the controversies and accusations.

“I love the moment when I see children dancing to his choreography, while people are still listening to his music. It proves that Michael and my family have had a powerful influence on the world. I know this will continue forever,” Janet shared.

Although time passes and noise surrounds us, for Janet, Michael Jackson will always be the brother she loves and respects the most. And for millions of fans, he remains a legend that will never fade.
