Zara McDermott has had enough of the negativity she is receiving on social media.

Days after Louis Tomlinson was caught on camera brutally snubbing love rival Sam Thompson, the 28-year-old Strictly star announced on her Instagram that she’s “taking a step back” from “negative” social media.

She began her detailed post by expressing gratitude to people who supported her before revealing she would be stepping back for some time to focus on her next project.

“I also just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who messaged me with regards to the story I posted the other day. If you didn’t see it; I spoke about developing my next documentary and how I’ve been thinking of how to create a project about domestic abuse, coercive control, and tech abuse,” the reality star noted.

“I had thousands of messages and I’m still going through them, but I wanted to say the biggest thank you ever,” she continued.

“It’s so nice speaking to you all because I’ve definitely taken a bit of a step back from socials to focus on my documentaries and other work / just focusing on being more present recently,” McDermott added.

It is pertinent to mention that McDermott and the One Direction star made their romance public in March, after parting ways from the former Made In Chelsea star.
