Elon Musk responds sarcastically after being attacked by Billie Eilish on Instagram

Elon Musk has just responded for the first time after Billie Eilish heavily criticized him for not contributing more to humanitarian activities.

On X, Elon Musk wrote: “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.” 

The statement is considered a direct response to the female singer’s statement about him.

The controversy began when Billie Eilish commented on a post by the activist group My Voice, My Choice , which lists a series of humanitarian causes that even a small portion of Elon Musk’s fortune could make a big impact on. 

An article by the group My Voice, My Choice claims that the Tesla founder is about to reach the milestone of becoming “the first person to reach a trillion USD “, while many global problems still require huge resources to solve.

Proposals put forward by the activist group include spending about $ 40 billion a year to end hunger by 2030, or spending more than $ 2 billion a year to help save more than 10,000 animal species from extinction.

Speaking in front of many famous entrepreneurs and technology founders, Billie Eilish asked the question directly: “If you are a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? I am not attacking anyone, but gently reminding you to give more.” Notably, Mark Zuckerberg – co-founder of Facebook – was also present at the event.

After Elon Musk’s response, social networks quickly divided into two distinct opinions.

One side siding with Billie Eilish said that she was just saying what many young people were thinking. Many comments said: “She dared to say things no one dared to say to billionaires”, “Billie just reiterated the humanitarian issue, there’s nothing wrong with that”. 

However, there are also many supporters of Elon Musk. They think that Billie Eilish used vulgar and disrespectful language and equated being rich with the responsibility of “giving back”.
