RFK Jr.’s collaboration with longtime Trump supporter Kid Rock doesn’t come as much of a surprise, given Turning Point USA hired him to put on an “alternative” halftime show for the Super Bowl in protest of Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language performance.

According to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Trump administration’s secretary of health and human services, it’s highly recommended to wear jeans during every workout and end it with an ice-cold glass of milk in the pool alongside your best buddy. That’s what a viral video on his Instagram page suggests at least.

The Feb. 17 post and government ad campaign, titled “ROCK OUT WORK OUT,” is a 1.5-minute-long aural assault featuring Kid Rock’s abrasive 1999 single, “Bawitdaba.” It begins by panning to a grizzly bear wearing a houndstooth fedora, then a great white shark leaping in front of an American flag, followed by an unrelenting sequence of flames, eagles and intriguing gymwear choices.

“I’ve teamed up with @kidrock to deliver two simple messages to the American people: GET ACTIVE + EAT REAL FOOD,” Kennedy wrote in the caption.

What follows is a hallucinatory montage of the two working out together in a gym, a sauna and a pickleball court. At one point, a shirtless RFK Jr. is on an exercise bike while inexplicably wearing skin-tight jeans but no shoes. In the background, Kid Rock — who’s also barefoot — does pushups before getting on the bike and flipping off the camera. Toward the end of the video, the pair celebrate with a couple of glasses of whole milk while lounging in an indoor pool. The phrase “WHOLE MILK” appears on-screen in dripping white text as they put the cups to their mouths.

Since then, the bizarre social media campaign has generated mixed reactions across Instagram and X.

“We need to talk about this,” one person wrote on X, posting a close-up of Kennedy’s bare feet on the exercise bike.

“Is this after toilet seat #2 or #3?” responded Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office with a snowflake emoji.

When SFGATE reached out to Newsom’s office and asked if it would like to share additional opinions on the video, a representative said: “Our post speaks for itself!”

Meanwhile, others praised RFK Jr.’s muscular physique and aesthetic choices. “Cold plunge in the dungarees! Next level!” one person on Instagram commented, along with trophy and salute emoji.

However, not everyone was as impressed.

“This is uncomfortably weird and creepy,” another user commented.

“Drinking milk in the hot tub with Kid Rock…WTAF did I just watch?” one person wrote under the video. “Can we maybe restore the cancer funding & funding for schools to buy local ingredients and stop pouring cash into making this really weird content?”

Ever since RFK Jr. was sworn in as the secretary of health and human services in 2025, he’s come under fire for attacking vaccine requirements, severely undermining cancer research and gutting agency jobs.

In 2025, Rep. Haley Stevens penned a letter to Kennedy criticizing his decision to cancel billions of dollars worth of National Institutes of Health grants that would benefit cancer research. More than 1,800 NIH grants were terminated between February and June of that year, she wrote in the letter, directly impacting “the patients of today and tomorrow.” According to Stevens, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network said that the cuts “will set this nation back dramatically in our ability to reduce death and suffering from a disease that is expected to kill more than 618,000 Americans this year alone.”

RFK Jr.’s collaboration with longtime Donald Trump supporter Kid Rock doesn’t come as much of a surprise, given Turning Point USA hired him to put on an “alternative” halftime show for the Super Bowl in protest of Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language performance. According to a Turning Point USA spokesperson, 10 million people tuned in, making it a “massive success.” By contrast, ESPN reported that 128 million people watched Bad Bunny’s halftime show, making it one of the most viewed Super Bowl performances of all time, behind Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jackson and Usher.

The office of RFK Jr. did not respond to SFGATE by the time of publication.
