Michael Bublé May Have a Sentimental Reason For Leaving ‘The Voice’ Season 29
The singer has a lot going on in 2026, which may have impacted his time on the NBC series.

With The Voice season 28 officially over, we’re ready to see what’s next for the show’s current winner. But fans should be aware of some changes happening to the show, including that one coach won’t be part of season 29.
The next season of the NBC series is set to air on February 23, 2026, and viewers were stunned to discover that major twists are on the horizon. Along with a brand-new format, the show is bringing back previous coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend to find the best new artist going into the new year.
So, we don’t want to upset you, but it’s pretty clear Michael Bublé isn’t returning to The Voice for season 29. And while he hasn’t explicitly stated what led to his exit, we may have clues about what contributed to it.
While Michael has been busy working on The Voice, he is best known as a beloved singer. And being a working musician means touring around the world, which his official website seems to indicate will happen when he’s not on TV.
Starting in January 2026, Michael will embark on various shows that’ll take him internationally. Following two shows in Canada that month, he’ll take a hiatus before embarking on a U.K. and Ireland tour in the summer of 2026.
“Michael is excited to announce he will be returning to the UK & Ireland in 2026 for a series of special summer shows!” reads an Instagram caption from November 24.

Even though Michael would technically have time between shows to appear on another season of The Voice, a report in the U.S. Sun suggested he may just want to spend time with those he loves most. After all, his wife, Luisana Lopilato, and their four kids (sons Noah and Elias and daughters Vida and Cielo) live in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada—far from The Voice‘s home base in Los Angeles.
“Michael has already said that he’s done with the show after this season,” a source reportedly told the outlet, per Cosmopolitan. “It will be a big loss since he’s beloved there. Michael loves the show, he loves the crew, and it seems like he loves his job … he needs to step away and take some time for himself and his family.”
Well, that’s certainly understandable! Regardless of this being Michael’s last time on The Voice, it’s clear he’s proud of everything he’s done with finalists Max Chambers and Jazz McKenzie leading up to the final episode of season 28.
“I’m so proud of Team Bublé this season,” he wrote on Instagram on December 16. “I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible artists. To my final two, no matter what happens tonight, I know you both have amazing careers and lives ahead of you. Thank you for an unforgettable ride this season.”

Fingers crossed we’ll get to see Michael grace our screen again soon!
