On Tuesday’s edition of ABC World News Tonight, David Muir presented a segment about the theft of Beyoncé’s unreleased music from her choreographer’s car that has led to some surprising viewer reactions.
Anchor and heartthrob David Muir reported, “To the index of other news, the 911 call reporting Beyoncé’s unreleased music stolen in Atlanta. The suspect breaking into her choreographer’s SUV, stealing hard drives with the music and video footage.”
During the segment, they played an audio snippet of Diandre Blue’s desperate plea on the call, “They have my computers and its really, really important information in there. I work with someone who is of like of high status and I really need the – my computer back and everything.”
Muir noted that Beyoncé was in town for her Cowboy Carter tour, yet despite the gravity of the situation, fan reactions were far from alarmed or empathetic.
When a clip from the news story appeared on ABC World News Tonight’s Instagram page, one person dismissively wrote, “Are we supposed to feel bad?” while another suggested it was merely a “publicity stunt.”

Another user questioned the wisdom of leaving such sensitive items unsecured, asking, “Who leaves hard drives in the car in that Atlanta heat,” followed by a blunt comment, “WHO C A R E S???? With all that’s going on in the world now????? OMG.”
One unimpressed viewer commented, “Yawn. Even if they dropped it on my desk, I wouldn’t listen to it,” and another quipped lightheartedly, “Maaaaan, anyway.. I’m bout to go to the store. Yawl need anything?”
The theft happened just hours before David’s report and involved a USB being swiped from a rented Jeep Wagoneer, which was being used by Beyoncé’s choreographer.
Police reports state that it occurred at Krog Street Market’s food hall in Atlanta on Tuesday, July 8, just two days before Beyoncé’s four-night performance at the city’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The stolen USBs held footage, concert plans, and setlists.
According to the authorities, the thieves made off with more than just unreleased music. They also stole a pair of MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, high-end clothing and gear and “sensitive material” linked to Beyoncé.
The Single Ladies singer has yet to make any public comments about the theft. Exactly what the “sensitive material” entails and details about the music remain undisclosed.
Police are currently investigating the stolen items, which were stored on five USB sticks, and have issued an arrest warrant for an unnamed suspect.
This incident coincides with Beyoncé’s Monday night performance at the 73,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Her tour is set to conclude with a grand finale in Las Vegas at the end of July, featuring a double-header.
