Regardless of what the NFL fans say, Taylor Swift has indeed been a lucky charm to the league. Since dating the legendary tight end Travis Kelce, she has significantly boosted the economy of the NFL, resulting in another projection of an increase in the salary cap besides the obvious uprise in viewership.
The world of the NFL has been bestowed with the rejoicing news of a new salary cap or an enhanced one reportedly between $277.5 million and $281.5 million. Marking for the second time in a row, there has been at least a $53 million increase in the salary cap over the past two years, allowing the teams to keep back their key players while also having enough space to boost the roster if necessary.
While analyzing how the league has achieved such remarkable success, one name stands out prominently– the 14-time Grammy winner, Swift. As difficult as it may be for many NFL fans, who have booed her presence at games, they owe a debt of gratitude to her for helping finance their favorite players with expensive paychecks.
Calculating from September 2023 till February 2025, during the time the global superstar has attended the NFL games, she has reportedly generated almost $1 billion for the league. This remarkable contribution has significantly boosted brand value across various sectors, including television revenue, social media engagement, and digital news coverage.
Even with these facts, some may say the league has been increasing the cap space year after year long before Swift’s name began associating with the gridiron, the numbers speak for themselves. The 2024 and 2025 offseason has recorded two of the biggest cap boosts in the history of the NFL.
NFL eyes Taylor Swift for Super Bowl LX halftime show
The fans may not be gratuitous towards the “Lover” singer, but the NFL certainly is. And to generate another record-breaking financial boost, discussions are underway to feature Swift in the half-time show at Super Bowl LX in 2026, as per a source within the league.
“Taylor is the goal we want her to be doing the SB halftime show it has been something we should have done before,” shared the source to The U.S. Sun.
It would be historical and we would make the best numbers ever and get someone that everyone loves and that doesn’t create any controversy.
The source added

After the huge controversy with Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at Super Bowl LIX, there has been a demand for the rather “conservative” and “family-friendly performer,” making NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wonder: who else than everyone’s favorite pop icon, Swift, especially considering the success of her prominent Eras Tour concerts.
