Tom Brady criticises the world’s best golfer for putting his family before his career: “Your kids see everything”
“Scottie Scheffler said he would rather be a better father and husband than a good golfer. I think by prioritizing my profession I was doing the best for my family”

Tom Brady, considered the best player in NFL history, was critical of golfer Scottie Scheffler, the number one player on the PGA Tour, for prioritizing his family over his sporting career.
Part of being a great father is setting a great example of doing what it takes to take care of the family. I chose to do that by playing football
Scottie said he would rather be a better father and husband than a good golfer. I think by prioritizing my profession and leading by example I was doing the best thing for my family. Part of being a great father is setting a great example of doing whatever it takes to take care of the family. I chose to do that by playing football,” the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said on tombrady.com.
It’s the question Scottie Scheffler seems to be grappling with; do I have my priorities straight? Finding the answer is simple
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion (six with the Pats and one with the Bucs), spoke about what should be the priority in life and questioned whether Scheffler, a two-time major winner this year and world number one for 150 weeks, has his own priorities clear.
When your priority is to take care of your career, that’s what you do. When it’s time to get down to work, work becomes your priority
“It’s the question that Scottie Scheffler seems to be dealing with; do I have my priorities straight? Finding the answer is simple. When the priority is to take care of your career, whether it’s a training camp or four rounds of golf in a major championship, that’s what you do. When it’s time to get down to business, work becomes your priority,” explained the legendary quarterback.
“Remember, your kids see everything. Reading them bedtime stories and helping them with homework is not the only way to be a good parent, nor is winning Super Bowls or MVPs
According to the five-time Super Bowl MVP, family and work, although different blocks, are part of the pyramid of life.
“Both are connected, why are they mutually exclusive? My dedication to the sport, the hours of training, the moments of total concentration; those were moments when I think I was doing my best for my family and my children,” he stressed.
Tom Brady, a future Pro Football Hall of Famer, reiterated the importance of his NFL career in becoming a role model for his children.
“Remember, your kids see everything. Reading to them before bed and helping them with homework is not the only way to be a good parent, just as it is not to win Super Bowls or MVPs. Being a great football player didn’t make me a great father, but how I became a great player certainly influenced me, because it helped me do what it took to improve, succeed and be a role model,” concluded the current minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders
