Riley Green Goes Viral Carrying His Dog, Carl, On Stage During Performance Of “Georgia Time”

It’s safe to say it’s been a pretty good end of the year for Riley Green. In addition to being crowned People’s “Sexiest Country Star,” something that he says his friends roasted him for, the “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” singer had himself a hell of an CMA Awards last week, performing his viral hit “Worst Way” before taking home three wins with Ella Langley for Single, Song and Music Video of the Year for “you look like you love me.”

With the CMAs over and his current leg of the Damn Country Music Tour coming to a close this past weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and North Little Rock, Arkansas, Green has been putting the finishing touches on the aforementioned tour. And over the weekend, he brought out a lot of hilarious stunts to celebrate the upcoming wrap up of both 2025 and the Damn Country Music Tour.

During his show on Friday in Oklahoma City at the Paycom Center, Green would start the on-stage shenanigans early. First, he would pull another classic end of tour prank on none other than his tourmate, friend and living legend, Jamey Johnson, dressing up as the “In Color” singer, complete with the beard, glasses and signature long hair.

Despite the Johnson dress up/prank being nothing short of hilarious, drawing great reactions from both fans in the comments and Jamey himself, the most viral moment of the night came a bit later in the concert and featured none other than Green’s dog, Carl.

In case you’re somehow not familiar with Carl, he’s undoubtedly one of the most famous dogs in all of music. In addition to his constant appearances at Green’s concerts, moreso during his 2024 Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour, he’s appeared alongside Green in a plethora of different ads and videos ranging from his Gildan ad in late 2024 to being named the most essential part of his tour in a video with CMT.

Beyond that, Carl, also known as Carl the Cowboy Corgi, has made a name for himself on Instagram. Beyond having a staggering 128,000 followers on the platform, he famously made headlines earlier in the year during the height of the incredibly overblown drama surrounding the “love triangle” between Green, Ella Langley and Megan Moroney when “Carl” commented on  “Damn gurl” on one of Moroney’s Instagram photos.

With all of that being said, it’s safe to say that Carl has one of the best lives any dog can ever dream of, and that was put on full display once again over the weekend in Oklahoma City. During Green’s performance of his 2018 single, “Georgia Time,” Green brought Carl out on stage… in a pretty unorthodox way.

Instead of bringing him out on a leash or simply carrying him like he has during past appearances, the Alabama native decided to strap Carl up in a hunting vest/harness. What resulted is Green carrying Carl around like a brief case during the performance while the world-famous “cowboy corgi” sat suspended in the air looking a bit confused.

Overall, it was an incredibly hilarious moment and it quickly went viral. As of writing, the video of the performance uploaded by TikTok user, @christensen.alexis, currently has over 2.1 million views, 272,000 likes and nearly 1,000 comments.

Though there were quite a few comments concerned about Carl, mainly focusing on his ears due to the fact that he was up on stage without any headphones/earplugs, many fans took to the comments to crack jokes about Carl’s uncertain look on stage. And, of course, they also mentioned the fact that Riley was carrying him around, as one user described it, like a purse.
