According to Gay, particularly known for his work on Rory McIlroy, including the biography “Rory Land”, McIlroy’s natural charisma and welcoming nature have made him extremely popular among fans. Gay notes, “He’s got such a natural charisma, such an easy way with the media, he’s so thoughtful and reflective.”

However, Gay also points out that this level of fame and scrutiny can be challenging to handle, stating, “It’s hard doing that all the time.” In contrast, Gay highlights that Tiger Woods had an easier time managing his public image during his prime. According to Gay, Woods “used to get his practice rounds in before practically anybody showed up at the course, avoided autograph lines whenever he could, kind of shunned the public.”
