Tiger Woods’s Niece Cheyenne Shares 4-Word Update After Daughter’s Health Battle
Away from the course challenges, the LPGA professional has had a tough year dealing with her family challenges. “I can’t help but get emotional when thinking about the year that we have had,” said Cheyenne Woods, looking back at the struggles in 2024. Tiger Woods‘s niece and the mother of two experienced an unexpected health condition with the younger daughter, Maya, which almost broke her down.
But despite the long struggle of the newborn, Maya, and Woods’s contribution of helping her battle with a breathing condition and severe reflux, the family has now found relief. She shared about it, writing, “2024 nearly broke me, and it challenged me in ways I wasn’t prepared for, but we made it through. I am so grateful for all our family’s growth this year.” The health condition of Maya, at just eight weeks, forced a hard decision to choose tube feeding. The newborn struggled with weight gain, as feeding her had become a task.
After months of hardship, she shared a gratitude-filled post for Dominique Grossman, who helped Maya recover. She posted a story on Instagram that read, “Dominque has helped us SO much through our journey with Maya. So knowledgeable and passionate about helping moms and babies. So grateful to have found you.” Now, with the positive development, the mother-daughter duo is once again passionately following golf.
The emotional story of the professional has left the fans in awe. Woods has posted a story on Instagram with Maya at the Augusta National. She shared a selfie of the two, writing, “Saturday morning golf date 🤍⛳️” so her stepping onto the course after the struggle as a mother is what left the fans’ hearts melting. The golfer’s new roles in her personal life have taken a toll on her professional career. The birth of Cameron, the elder son, led to a break from the course, but she shared how she enjoys watching golf more than ever, saying, “I do miss Tour golf. I don’t necessarily miss the travel, but I do miss the competition. I watch a lot of golf. I watch more now than I probably ever have.”

Now that things have started to fall into place and Woods is getting back to the course, is it a hint to appear as a professional?
Cheyenne Woods hints at her comeback
The LPGA professional has been away from the course since 2021 because of the family advancement and the health condition of Maya. She has been on an indefinite break. She stepped away from the course to prioritize family. But the great news is that there’s no retirement announcement, a happy sign for fans who wish to see her again teeing off.
Not just this, but during an interview with Golfweek, Woods shared her desire to play in front of her kids. She said, “I would love for my kids to eventually be able to see what mom can do, what mom used to do.” The golfer last played at the Cambian Portland Classic in September 2021 and has been on the lookout to share her career glimpse with her kids. With two professional wins, the golfer might be on the course soon. Cheyenne Woods, niece of Tiger Woods, has two professional wins to her name. She grabbed her first title in 2012 at the SunCoast Ladies Series, then made a splash in 2014 by winning the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters in Australia, finishing 16-under to beat out rising star Minjee Lee. Two wins that proved she’s more than just a famous last name.
Now, with things settling as a mother and her personal life moving towards calm, the world expects her involvement. Well, there’s again an opportunity to witness Tiger Woods and Cheyenne Woods together at a mixed event. What are your thoughts? Will she make a comeback this year?
