Tiger Woods could return to the Masters next month if the tournament’s official website is anything to go by. The American golfer has reportedly been confirmed to be “making his 27th Masters start in 2026,” as per his short bio.

Woods has been on the golf scene for 30 years and has stayed in the professional game long enough to see his son, Charlie, begin to make waves. The teenager began golfing alongside his father in 2020 when he was just 11 at the PNC Championship.

He has been improving his skills in the amateur game and even scored his first hole-in-one in December 2024. When Tiger said he owed a round of drinks for everyone on the course, Charlie replied: “I’m not buying, I’m broke.”

Despite this claim, reports would suggest that neither Woods Jnr or Snr are struggling for cash. As per Forbes, Tiger is worth a whopping £1.18billion ($1.5bn) and is the fourth highest-paid golfer in the world – behind Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

It was reported in 2025 that Woods had made £89.1m ($120m) on the fairways and has hands in various business ventures. These include luxury real-estate business Nexxus, architecture company TGR design and a restaurant called The Woods Jupiter.

Without considering his father’s wealth, Charlie is estimated to be worth around £18.5m ($25m) according to Sportskeeda. Both of Tiger’s children, including daughter Sam, reportedly have huge trusts in their names that have a rumoured figure of £14.8m ($20m) set to be passed on in the future.

Charlie reportedly has two luxury homes in California and Florida which he will gain access to when he turns 21. The 17-year-old is also eligible for a potentially huge name, image and likeness (NIL) deal.

These contracts are usually given to star student-athletes but it hasn’t been confirmed whether he has signed anything yet. With all of the above wealth plus his growing fame in golf, it is unlikely that the teenager is as “broke” as he claimed on the course.

While there has been no official confirmation that Tiger will actually appear at the Masters in April, he has committed to returning for the final night of the TGL season – a golf league he launched alongside McIlroy last year.

Woods had been on the sidelines throughout the 2026 season, having not appeared on the PGA Tour since July 2024 and getting back surgery in October 2025. The 50-year-old admitted that he would hope to feature in the TGL season and did sit out of his team’s semi-final win earlier in March.

Woods will now replace Kevin Kisner in the Jupiter Links line-up for the season finale at the SoFi Center. After losing against Los Angeles Golf Club on Monday, the American will link up with Max Homa and Tom Kim to try and force a season decider in a best-of-three against Los Angeles.

He said: “As a team, we were together in this, all of us together, and it was close. We had our opportunities; they had their opportunities. We could have flipped in the middle of that back nine, and it came down to the last hole.

“We were in a playoff once, and this was damn near there. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, but we have possibly two more matches. We’re not out of this. Even with a loss we’re still not out of it.”
