Season 29 of The Voice will be unlike anything viewers have ever seen from the singing competition.
The Voice crowned its Season 28 winner back in December, and it won’t be long until fans get to see what’s next.
Season 29 is set to premiere on February 23, and if you’re a longtime viewer, there’s a lot you should know about the upcoming season.
For starters, the new season is titled Battle of Champions and will bring back three fan-favorite coaches to the iconic red chairs.
Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend are all returning. This is the first time all three have appeared on the show together since 2019.

What’s Different About Season 29?
The competition will look very different from what viewers are used to. Last summer, NBC announced major format changes and new rules for the season.
This time around, the show will feature four rounds: Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, Semifinals, and Finals.
During the Blind Auditions, the coaches will compete in a “Triple Turn Competition,” with the goal of earning the most chair turns. By the end of that round, each coach will have 10 artists on their team.
The coach who wins that round will earn a new “Super Steal” power to use during the Battles. This gives them a one-time chance to block another coach from stealing an artist.
During the knockouts, each coach will bring back two artists they’ve previously coached from past seasons to compete in sing-offs. The coach who wins the most sing-offs during this round will earn a second finalist spot in the finale.
Former coach CeeLo Green will be making his grand return to the show to judge this portion of the competition.
When the semifinals come around, the 9 remaining contestants will be narrowed down to 4, who go to the finale.
A new “voting block” will also be introduced. A group of Voice superfans and past contestants will vote in real time to declare a winner.
Watch The First Trailer For Season 29 Of The Voice
On Monday, February 1, NBC shared the first trailer for Season 29 of The Voice, giving fans a sneak peek at all the fun that’s coming their way.
Even with all of the big changes happening this season, the hilarious banter between the coaches that we love so much is still there!
“It’s the battle of champions for a reason,” Legend says in the beginning clip.
The coaches then start teasing eachother about their past success on the show.
“I’m the first coach ever to win the show,” Levine says, to which Clarkson quickly quips back, “But I have won the most!”
Later in the trailer, Legend and Levine go back and forth about how they’ve both won Best New Artist at the Grammys.
“I hate when dad and dad fight,” Clarkson jokes.
We also get the first look at CeeLo Green’s exciting return. He enters the stage on a throne and walks out dressed in a red suit with gold accessories.
“I’m totally gonna steal that for my Vegas show,” Clarkson says.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Monday, February 23, and tune in at 9/8c PM on NBC for The Voice: Battle of Champions.
