The bond between Jennifer Lopez and one of Ben Affleck’s children has reportedly come to an end.

Following their divorce, finalized in January, 20 weeks after Jennifer filed the papers, it seems the blended family dynamics have shifted. During their three-year marriage, Jennifer and Ben merged their families, often seen together with their children from previous relationships.

Jennifer has twins, Max and Emme, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Ben has three children, Violet Anne, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. However, sources close to the family have revealed that Violet, Ben’s eldest child, has distanced herself from Jennifer.

According to the Daily Mail, Violet felt “used as a pawn” during her father’s split from Jennifer, particularly as her mother, Jennifer Garner, had encouraged their close relationship. The source stated: “Violet felt like she was used as a pawn so to speak during her dad’s split from JLo. Jen [Garner] supported her daughter getting close to the singer because she always puts her children first.”

The family found it unusual that Violet continued to spend time with Jennifer and even wore her clothes as the divorce loomed. Additionally, Lynda Lopez’s visit to Violet at college raised eyebrows, further straining the relationship between Jennifer and Violet, reports the Mirror US.

Lynda Lopez is Jennifer’s younger sister. A well-informed source dished: “Jen even let this slide, because she wants Violet to be happy and respects that, as an adult, she can choose who to spend her time with even if Jen does not necessarily agree.”

Back in August, rumors swirled when Violet was seen donning a pink dress, which was the same one J.Lo wore for a Valentine’s Day rendezvous with Ben just the year before. Violet was hanging out with J.Lo’s 16 year old twins.

The insider went on to spill that the dynamic between Violet and her former stepmom took a turn after she clocked “how upset her father was that their split was at the center of everything.” They shared: “Ben never said a word about JLo.

“Violet is highly intelligent and will ultimately always be a daddy’s girl. This is why you do not see her on public outings with JLo anymore,” they concluded.
