Country Music Lovers Are Confident Megan Moroney’s Next Era Is Going to Be All-Things Purple

One thing about Megan Moroney is that the 27-year-old is unafraid to commit to a theme…

For those who have been keeping up with the country cutie for quite some time, it’s obvious that Moroney’s 2023 debut album, Lucky, was centered around an emerald green color. This hue was present in Lucky‘s visuals, outfits, promotional content and more, with Moroney swiftly transitioning to blue as she prepared to release her 2024 sophomore album, Am I Okay?.

Now, with her highly-anticipated third studio album arriving soon, fans are left with just one burning question — what color will it be?

During a recent interview with Audacy‘s Katie Neal, Moroney teased what MM3 will entail, explaining that “this next set of music is a lot happier than what you would expect,” aligning with where the blonde beauty is at in her life lately.

She continued, “I do have one gut-wrenching song on the album. There’s a few sad songs still, ’cause I would never abandon my emo cowgirl-ness, but for the album as a whole, I do think it’s a lot more carefree, sassy and fun.”

Could this “happier” music be a result of her rumored relationship with “Worst Way” singer Riley Green? Only time will tell…

After discussing the music, Neal and Moroney discussed the album’s color scheme, with the latter admitting that she “already know what it is.” How exciting is that?

Given the fact that “this next set of music is a lot happier,” fans started to speculate that the color scheme of Moroney’s third studio album would be yellow, a hue that tends to represent “happiness, glory and wisdom.”

Stepping out in a gorgeous yellow gown at the 60th annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards as well, country music lovers began to double down on the theory that yellow would be the signature shade for MM3, but as of today (June 12), purple is now in the picture.

Coming shortly after the release of “You Had To Be There” — featuring Kenny Chesney — the Georgia native announced the second single that will be featured on her highly-anticipated third studio album, “Six Months Later.”

Announced via Instagram today (June 12), Moroney is seen donning a gorgeous purple gingham set, holding a pink bedazzled telephone that is likely a reference to the lyric, “What doesn’t kill you calls you six months later.” If it wasn’t obvious enough, the second image in the carousel explicitly states that the upcoming tune is “Six Months Later,” featuring a notepad with the title of the song written in Sharpie.

While fans could not contain their excitement to finally have “Six Months Later” — which Moroney has been teasing for weeks — on all music streaming services, fans were equally as enthusiastic about her outfit, questioning whether or not the purple set is a reference to the color scheme of MM3.

“Is purple our new color?” one fan wrote in the comment section of the post, while another added, “Is pink the new blue? Is purple the new blue? Am I going to scream when the song drops? Yes.”

MM3 purple confirmed,” a third fan wrote, which is a rather convincing case…
