Beautiful Victorian home owned by Harry Styles’ band hits the market for $2.8M and has intriguing secrets
A striking Queen Anne Victorian once owned by members of Harry Styles‘ band has hit the market in Pasadena – and it’s not just the celebrity pedigree that makes this home sing.
Listed for $2.8million, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence – known as The Hutchins House – is a designated Pasadena City Landmark and a contributing property in the Arroyo Terrace National Historic District, one of the city’s most architecturally significant enclaves.
Built sometime between 1895 and 1899, the home was originally located in the heart of Pasadena but was moved to its current site in 1906.
‘From what I’ve heard from different publications and folklore, it was put in that spot in like 1906,’ listing agent Nina Kurtz told DailyMail.com.
It’s named after early owner George E. Hutchins, who, according to local lore, was a descendant of British royalty.
‘George Hutchins was allegedly a descendant of British royalty and from what I’ve heard, he was a person of means – no expense was spared,’ Kurtz explained.
‘The downstairs has these super high ceilings, and just like a grandiose kind of vibe – it’s magical.’
More recently, it served as a stylish sanctuary for musicians Mitch Rowland and Sarah Jones -longtime collaborators and touring members in Harry Styles’ band.

‘They loved the attic space and used it to jam – drums, guitars, everything,’ said Kurtz.
‘They originally thought they’d make the carriage house into a studio, but the attic had such a vibe that they used it instead.’
That attic is one of the home’s most enchanting features. Hidden behind a pull-down ladder in the laundry room, it offers more than 1,100 square feet of finished living space not counted in the main square footage.
‘You’d never guess it was there,’ Kurtz said.
‘Once you pull down the ladder and climb up, you enter this magical attic with balconies, all wood, and tons of character.’
Behind its ornate exterior, the 3,000-square-foot residence has been thoughtfully updated for modern living while preserving its timeless craftsmanship.

A grand foyer with the original staircase sets the tone, leading into formal living and dining rooms adorned with bay windows and period details.
The owners also went above and beyond to ensure authenticity, sourcing ‘period-correct’ light fixtures from Pasadena Architectural Salvage.
‘They feel like they’ve been there forever – they just add to that feeling of being transported,’ said Kurtz.
The chef’s kitchen is outfitted with top-of-the-line Viking appliances and opens to a sunny breakfast room that overlooks manicured gardens.

Upstairs, four bedrooms share access to renovated bathrooms.
Outside, a detached carriage house includes a fully finished upper-level studio and a separate office/workshop.
Located just minutes from the Rose Bowl, Old Town Pasadena, and the iconic Gamble House, the home blends historic preservation with vibrant neighborhood appeal.
‘When we were doing our open house, we could hear Jenny Lewis performing nearby – it was so surreal,’ Kurtz recalled.
‘It’s usually a quiet, lovely street, but sometimes you’re a stone’s throw from the coolest events.’

For the right buyer, this home is a rare find. ‘It’s like time traveling – but not necessarily into the past,’ said Kurtz.
‘It’s like living inside a work of art. Everything’s been restored with so much thought and care.’
She added that the house is ideal for anyone ‘aesthetically sensitive’ and drawn to classic architecture.
From royal roots to rockstar residents, The Hutchins House is a one-of-a-kind listing with stories in every square inch.
