The dreamy marriage of “Australian swan” Nicole Kidman before separation

Singer Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman had 19 years together and two beautiful daughters before their marriage was marred by turmoil. In Nicole’s eyes, Keith was more than just a life partner.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s fateful meeting

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban first met at the G’Day USA art event in January 2005. Just over a year later, they got married. 

In 2017, in an interview, Nicole admitted that she fell in love with Keith at first sight. She gave him her phone number and wanted to keep the relationship going. She thought Urban didn’t like her because it took her 4 months to get his first call.

When asked about the reason for not contacting Nicole for 4 months after their first meeting, Keith explained that he thought the actress did not like him. 

“She was as beautiful as a princess from a fairy tale. That day, I tried to stay calm, but Nicole’s aura made me feel like I was attending a royal festival. Overcoming my nervousness, I managed to get her phone number,” Keith said. 

After their first call, Urban realized that Nicole was like any other girl and had feelings for him. Talking about his first impression of his partner, the country singer said: “She has big eyes, full of energy and is very Australian.”

Their wedding was held in a cozy atmosphere in front of friends and relatives in June 2006. Two little princesses were born one after another, adding warmth to their home. 

Love is nurtured in trials 

Not only lovers, Nicole and Keith are also friends, companions in difficult times of life. 

Just four months after their wedding, Keith admitted to alcohol and drug addiction. With his wife’s encouragement, Keith Urban agreed to go to rehab for three months.

During her husband’s struggle with alcohol and cocaine addiction, the blonde star was always by his side, encouraging him and helping him overcome difficulties. 

Later, in many of his award acceptance speeches, Keith always mentioned his wife with great gratitude. He said: “Nicole ignored all the criticism. I’m sure my wife wondered many times at that time, but after all, she still chose love and stayed with me.”

In 2017, Nicole participated in the project Big Little Lies , she suffered a lot of psychological trauma when playing the female lead Celeste Wright – a wife abused by her husband.

The actress performed many scenes of being beaten, strangled and sexually assaulted. The scenes and the fate of the character in the film left Nicole psychologically haunted. During that time, Keith Urban helped his wife overcome. 

“The best thing in my life is marrying an artist. My partner always knows how to support me. After tiring days of filming, I come home to a loving embrace and he will embrace all my worries,” she said. 

Happiness comes from companionship and understanding 

In an interview with People magazine in 2018, when asked about the secret to maintaining her marriage, she affirmed that both husband and wife always accompany and support each other’s careers. They are always together at entertainment events. 

Nicole often accompanies her husband on tour, seeing it as an opportunity for them to learn more about each other’s work and to rekindle their relationship. In addition, the actress believes that the habit of kissing good morning and goodbye also helps maintain happiness. 

As for Keith Urban, he affirmed that Nicole is the best thing in his life. He has composed many songs for his wife. For Keith Urban, marrying Nicole is the greatest achievement because thanks to her, he successfully quit drugs and found joy in life and work again. 

The couple also agreed on how to care for and accompany their children. Keith and Nicole protected their two daughters from the camera lens. Last year, on their 18th wedding anniversary, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban shared a photo of themselves on the beach with the caption: “Together forever.” In the photo, the blonde star lay on a cliff while her husband sat next to her playing the guitar.
