The shift in priorities, however, has come at the cost of the sisters’ family-run media empire. It has ultimately led to tensions between Kim and Kourtney.

The eldest Kardashian sister has been a prominent figure in the family’s reality show, beginning with the premiere of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” in 2007. But, a source explained, “Kourtney’s been distancing herself for a while now.” They added, “She’s way happier for it.” She thinks “the whole fame game has gotten out of control, and she’s not interested in being part of” it.

Kourtney‘s unease with public attention is not unheard of. She has openly discussed her discomfort with elements of fame in past interviews, even temporarily leaving “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” in 2020. Meanwhile, Kim has remained highly participative in the family business. Ever since the Hulu series “The Kardashians” aired in 2022, following the conclusion of the original show, Kim has never backed out from ongoing appearances on the show.

An insider told Star, “Kim doesn’t understand Kourt’s mentality and thinks she’s being a snob.” Kourtney’s active work on her lifestyle brands, Poosh and Lemme, further underscores the friction between the sisters. According to the source, “Kim reminds her that her brands would never gotten off the ground if not for the family’s name.”

The source claimed, “[Kim] thinks Kourtney is being hypocritical,” adding, “They get in constant fights over it.” Despite Kim and Kourtney’s differences, the eldest Kardashian sibling is reportedly confident about withdrawing from the spotlight, and it is not sitting well with Kim, who wants to embrace the fame and business growth.
