Sofia Vergara and Lewis Hamilton spark romance rumours with New York lunch date

Sofia Vergara and Lewis Hamilton have sparked romance rumours after they were spotted on a lunch date in New York.

The Modern Family actress, 52, and Formula One megastar, 40, sat side by side with a group of friends at a restaurant on Tuesday, in photos obtained by TMZ.

Observers claimed Vergara hardly ate any of her food as she was so engrossed in the conversation.

The Griselda star and racing driver were pictured grinning and chatting with each other outside the eatery after lunch, before Vergara got into a black SUV and left.

The Standard has contacted Vergara and Hamilton’s representatives for comment.

Hamilton had an on-off relationship with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger from 2007 until 2015.

He has since been romantically linked to Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Rita Ora, and Nicki Minaj.

Vergara, meanwhile, has been single since splitting from orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman in late 2024.

She revealed her goals for the new year were “health, money, and a boyfriend – or a lover, maybe,” during a chat with Access Hollywood at the Golden Globes last month.

She dated Saliman after the collapse of her marriage to Magic Mike actor Joe Mangianello, 48,.

Vergara and Manganiello got married in 2015 and announced their divorce in 2023.

In May last year, the actress claimed they broke up because True Blood star Manganiello wanted to have children whereas she didn’t want to be an “older mom.”

The star already has a son, Manolo Gonzalez, 33, with her ex-husband, Joe Gonzalez.

“There’s things in life that might sound like good ideas, but they’re not. I was a mother already,” she told People.

“I know what it means to be a good mother or to try to be the best mother that you can, and that takes a lot of sacrifices, takes a lot of energy.”

“I didn’t think because of my career, the way I live my life, the way my marriage was, that it was fair to bring a kid to this world, and I’m not going to be able to give 100 per cent.”

Manganiello claimed he and Vergara tried to have children for the first year and a half of their relationship but that expanding their brood wasn’t “inevitably why everything ended.”

He denied her claims that he was set on having kids, telling Men’s Journal: “To be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years, turned to somebody and gave them an ultimatum of, ‘Do this potentially unhealthy thing to your body, or else I’m gone?’

“That’s never who I was.”
