Trump has faced backlash for the costs.

Donald Trump’s trip to open the Trump International Golf Links Aberdeens, has cost the US taxpayer a significant amount, it has been reported.
The 79-year-old was sworn in for his second term as US President in January after he defeated Democratic Party nominee Kamala Harris in November’s presidential election.
Away from his role as President, Trump is an avid golf fan and player, and owns 16 different courses across the world.
Twelve of those courses are in the States, while he also owns two in Scotland, one in Ireland and one in the United Arab Emirates.
Trump was accompanied by his sons Eric and Don Jr, when he cut the ribbon for the new course in Scotland on Monday.
When questioned on Air Force One about promoting his own businesses while on an official trip, Trump responded: “I haven’t heard that.
“Did you get to see my drive on the first hole? Pretty long. That’s not Joe Biden,” he added.
The opening took place on the penultimate day of his official state visit to Scotland, where he met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to discuss critical issues.

How much did it cost US taxpayers?
According to analysis by Huffpost, Trump’s trip, which lasted five days, has cost the Us taxpayers around $10 million.
These costs include travel, security, logistics, and the President’s housing.
While these expenses are expected on state visits, Trump has been slammed in the American media for ‘dipping his hands into public pockets’ to benefit his and his family’s private business ventures.
Speaking at the opening Trump said: “This has been an unbelievable development.”
He also praised the course as a ‘masterpiece’ and ‘Mona Lisa’, but complained about the windmills in the area.
