‘Saturday Night Live’ Facing Backlash for Tiger Woods Sketch

NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” didn’t go easy on Tiger Woods during Saturday night’s show.

This week’s show, hosted by Coleman Domingo – who stars on the upcoming season of “Euphoria” – took a clear shot at Woods following his DUI arrest in Florida last month. The showed opened with a sketch featuring Woods and President Trump.

“Hello Tiger, it’s Donald. Are you playing in the Masters this weekend?” he asked.

Woods’ character replied: “No, sir. I don’t know if you’ll remember, but I flipped my car and got a DUI.”

“You should have told the cops we were friends. They would have let you off,” Trump’s character said.

“Well, I did, and they didn’t,” he responded.

“If only there was something I could have done to help. Oh well, wanna play some golf?” Trump responded.

Not everyone loved it, though.

Some fans took to social media to complain about SNL’s Tiger Woods and President Trump interpretation on Sunday morning.

‘SNL’ takes heat for the video

“This would have been funny if there was any real talent left on SNL,” one fan wrote.

“This is getting so old. You’re so obsessed with Trump! Get some characters on there and make comedy again. Do better!” one fan added.

“These cold opens have gotten really tired. We need something fresh!” one fan added.

“Not even funny. Hasn’t been for several years,” one fan added.

Woods, meanwhile, is seeking help overseas.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” the 15-time major champion said in a statement posted to his social media accounts. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return to a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
