Riley Gaines appears to unearth old tweet by ‘truly sick bully’ Simone Biles that ‘undermines nonsensical’ trans feud

SWIMMER Riley Gaines hit back at Simone Biles in their feud over transgender athletes.

Gaines, 25, is an activist campaigning against the participation of trans women in female sports.

She drew the ire of Olympic gymnast Biles, 28, last week.

Biles labeled Gaines “truly sick” in a post on X.

It was in reference to Gaines’ remarks on a Minnesota State High School League softball game.

Chaplin Park girl’s team celebrated winning the State Championship.

But Gaines claims that comments were turned off on the social media post because their team had a transgender player.

“Comments off lol,” Gaines wrote.

“To be expected when your star player is a boy.”

Biles labeled Gaines a “bully” and said “no one in sports is safe with you around.”

The gymnast said, “You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up a sore loser.”

The comment from Biles was seemingly in reference to Gaines’ failed legal challenges to overturn a result.

Gaines finished tied fifth with transgender woman Lia Thomas in the 200m freestyle at the 2022 NCAA Championships.

Biles added, “You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive or creating a new avenue where trans feel sage in sports.

“Maybe a transgender category in all sports.

“But instead you bully them.

“One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around.”

Biles later followed up, “Bully someone your own size, which ironically would be a male.”

But Gaines has hit back at Biles by claiming to have unearthed a tweet from 2017.

“Ahhhh good thing guys don’t compete against girls or he’d take all the gold medals,” Biles’ message eight years ago read.

The tweet was sent during the 2017 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Canada.

The context of Biles’ tweet is not known with the gymnast not competing in that event.

But Gaines followed up, “Oop don’t you hate it when your past self completely undermines your current nonsensical argument?

“How has 2025 Simone reconciled with the fact 2017 Simone was a ‘truly sick bully’ by her own standard?”
