Scheffler staying grounded despite Tiger Woods comparisons after winning PGA Championship
Scottie Scheffler collected his third major and his first PGA Championship on Sunday at Quail Hollow, shooting a final-round 71 to take home a five-shot victory.
Scheffler has been a winning machine for the better part of three years now, and he joined two of the greats of golf with this victory.
Scheffler joined Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only golfers to win three or more majors and 15 or more PGA Tour events by the age of 29, according to Justin Ray.
Scheffler, Woods and Nicklaus also make up the only trio to win multiple Masters, multiple Players Championships and a PGA Championship, according to Ray, so there is no question that this victory holds significant historical weight.

Scheffler still has plenty of career left in front of him, so he has a chance to even surpass those numbers and join even more rarefied air. This win has a chance to slingshot him forward into the rest of the season after also dominating the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in his previous start.
Of course, Scheffler still has a ways to go to catch the 18 majors that Nicklaus won and the 15 that Woods has collected during his career. However, he is certainly capable of reaching similar heights and will be one of the favorites to win any tournament that he shows up at.
Scheffler has also now completed half of the Grand Slam, with just the U.S. Open and The Open Championship left on his list to collect all four majors. Rory McIlroy recently completed the Grand Slam at The Masters, and now Scheffler is right there in the conversation about who could be the next to do it.
