Rob Kardashian explains why he quit TV

Rob Kardashian quit the family’s reality TV projects because he wanted to put his “peace and happiness” first.

The 38 year old has stepped away from the spotlight in recent years and is no longer a regular onscreen alongside his siblings Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner, but Rob is adamant there is no bad blood between them and he just wants to live a quiet life away from the spotlight.

During an appearance on Khloe’s Khloé in Wonderland podcast, Rob explained: “”It just has everything to do with myself … There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us …

“[I just don’t] wanna be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable. Like, I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I wanna go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in? That’s not what I wanna do.

“I’m not gonna just put myself out there if I’m not comfortable with myself. I haven’t been comfortable with myself in years … Filming and doing all that, it’s not for everybody.

” And I choose my own happiness and peace [over] just filming for somebody who doesn’t do anything for me in my personal life.”

Khloe then asked her brother if he would ever consider returning to an onscreen role and he replied: “No, of course. I mean, I love filming if it’s positive and if it’s natural and I’m feeling good about myself. Then, of course and I’m comfortable.

“I like being around my family, so that stuff is good to me. Obviously, I have nothing against it. The reason I don’t is because I’m a homebody and I just choose, like I said, my peace and happiness.”

Rob previously appeared in the family’s E! show Keeping Up with the Kardashians as well as his own spin-off series Rob Chyna with his ex Blac Chyna – the mother of his six-year-old daughter Dream – but he’s only made a very brief appearance in their latest series The Kardashians.

Khloe previously insisted she thinks Rob will make a come back one day. Speaking in an episode of The Kardashians, she said of her brother: “I do think Rob would come back to the show. He talks about it a lot, he does, but I do know that Rob has been through a lot personally.

“He’s literally the best dad I know and I’m so proud of him for that. And I know that he is feeling really good about himself and I’m happy for him so I have faith that, soon, he’ll be back on the show.”

Rob Kardashian Shares Rare Glimpse Into His Love Life, Admits He’s ‘Never Gotten Serious’ in 8 Years Since Becoming a Dad

“I still have fun and enjoy my life, I just don’t care to be dating somebody, honestly,” Rob, 38, admitted

Rob Kardashian has his priorities in order, and dating isn’t one of them.

On the July 16 episode of his sister Khloé’s podcast, Khloé in Wonderland, the 38-year-old offered some rare insights into his ultra-private life, including what his love life is looking like.

Rob has always been the most private of his family, but he’s gone particularly under the radar ever since welcoming his daughter Dream in 2016 and his subsequent split from his ex-fiancée Blac Chyna, which culminated in her filing a defamation lawsuit against his family that the Kardashian-Jenners won.

Khloé asked what her brother’s dating life looks like these days, given how private he is.

In response to the question about his love life, Rob told his sister, “I just talk to people.”

“You talk to a lot of people,” Khloé, 41, agreed. “Rob might be a recluse, but let me tell you — Rob still gets around. It’s wild. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

He explained, “I’m good at talking to people. But also there [are] moments where I’m like, okay, I can’t talk to anybody, it’s too much energy. It’s just too much. I’m talking to too many people. I don’t wanna be like that.”

Rob then revealed that becoming a father is what’s changed his approach to dating.

Dream’s birth in 2016 led the youngest Kardashian sibling to make a shift in his love life.

“I have a daughter. I’m trying to be a good example,” he told Khloé. “I don’t bring girls to the house. I don’t have girls meet my daughter.”

“I’ve been single – she’s 8 years old – I’ve been single for 8 years, since she [was] born,” he said of Dream.

“Of course, I’ve dated and stuff, but I’ve never gotten serious or wanted to. My energy is just into Dream.”

Dating is simply not a priority to Rob at this stage in his life.

As important as it is to him to prioritize his daughter, Rob did admit that he’s “probably too strict” with how many guidelines he has around dating. “I probably should have fun and enjoy my life.”

“I mean, I still have fun and enjoy my life, I just don’t care to be dating somebody, honestly,” he said, amending his previous statement. “Unless it just happens. It just hasn’t.”

“But I definitely talk to people. I just — I’m not out here going on dates,” he continued. “Sometimes I do, but I really prefer not to. I prefer none of that.”

Things were on-and-off between Rob and Blac Chyna for quite some time before and after they welcomed Dream, but they split for good in 2017. Rob hasn’t been linked to anyone publicly since.
