Lainey Wilson’s Fiancé Just Helped Her Avoid a Major Financial Mistake

Lainey Wilson shared a financial mistake her fiancé helped her avoid while they plan their wedding. Read here to learn more.
Amidst wedding planning, Lainey Wilson and fiancé Devin “Duck” Hodges just avoided a major financial mistake. The Female Entertainer of the Year just talked about it in an interview.
When asked to share the biggest financial splurge she’s made since making it big, Lainey Wilson shared the one her fiancé helped her avoid. “Me and Duck were actually at a place called Moby Dickys, which is our favorite restaurant ever, it’s on the water and it’s actually where we had our first date.”
The singer explained, “I saw somebody drive up on a jet ski, and I was like, ‘We gon’ get a jet ski, today, we gettin’ a jet ski.’ By the time I finished the beer, he had already talked me out of it.” The singer admitted, “I was ready to do something crazy, I was ready to get a turquoise jet ski.” She joked that the reason she didn’t was that Duck didn’t think she was gonna be there to ride it. “Anyway, long story short, I thought about it but it didn’t happen.”
Lainey Wilson and Duck Still Haven’t Picked a Wedding Date
Besides the fact that Wilson probably doesn’t have time to ride jet skis, she’s also currently planning her wedding. The pair dated for four years before engagement, and she’s joked she’d “make [Duck] wait four more” while planning the wedding. While chatting with People about their relationship, Wilson said that Hodges is “one of the purest hearts and people that I have ever met,” as well as Lainey’s “biggest cheerleader.”
She also talked about how the two balance their relationship with their professional lives. “We don’t get to see each other all the time, and I do live a lot of my life on the road, so we’re also kind of figuring it out as we go, which is fun.” Duck is an ex-quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers and currently works as a realtor. With the two of them living such career-focused lives, spending time together is something they have to be intentional about.
As of now, amidst busy schedules, the pair has not yet decided on a wedding date. However, with Duck keeping Lainey in check about finances, we’re expecting the biggest celebrity wedding to date. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more.
