According to NDTV, billionaire Elon Musk – CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and owner of the X platform – has sparked a new controversy after sharing his views on women in a post on X.

Accordingly, Musk asserted that being a woman is determined purely by biology, specifically the presence of a uterus. “If you have a uterus, you are a woman. If not, then you are not,” he wrote on X.

Immediately, the post went viral within hours, garnering over 48.5 million views and hundreds of thousands of interactions, sparking heated debates among netizens.

Musk’s supporters argue that the biological definition is self-evident and should remain the foundation for discussions about gender.

One user wrote, “Unbelievable to live in an era where even the obvious needs to be stated,” and Elon Musk responded succinctly, “Indeed.”

Some other supporters also sarcastically remarked that the very reason “basic biology” has become a controversial issue, even one opposed within supposedly educated circles, reflects a “strange” moment in modern history.

Conversely, many argue that Musk’s statement is biologically inaccurate.

Some people cite MRKH syndrome (Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser) – a rare condition that causes women to be born without or with an underdeveloped uterus – to argue that women cannot be defined by a single biological organ.

This post appeared just one day after Musk compared his daughter’s gender transition to a “tragic mental illness,” reflecting his strong opposition to gender transition.

Furthermore, his comment was made in response to a sarcastic remark by a Democratic politician directed at the billionaire.

The debate is also linked to earlier statements by California Governor Gavin Newsom, who declared strong support for legislation protecting transgender children and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

Newsom’s office later reposted the interview, with a cryptic caption aimed at Musk: “We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon.”
