Post Malone Says He “Would Love To” Headline The Super Bowl Halftime Show One Day

This needs to happen ASAP.
Post Malone is set to headline Bud Light’s Super Bow concert, Bud Light Presents: Post Malone & Buddies, on the Friday before the Super Bowl, February 6th, at 8 p.m. in Fort Mason, San Francisco, which is about an hour outside of Santa Clara, where the game is being held inside the 49ers’ Levi Stadium.
Posty is no stranger to the Super Bowl, and last year, he performed a rock-solid rendition of “America the Beautiful” in Las Vegas before the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers. He also performed and headlined both the YouTube Tailgate Concert and Bud Light’s Backyard Concert series along with the likes of Sierra Ferrell, HARDY, Joe Nichols and Blake Shelton.
He also headlined the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving halftime show just last month, and it led many fans to wonder why he hasn’t done the Super Bowl halftime show yet…
During a quick chat with Billboard, he said that he would “a hundred percent” play new music at this pre-Super Bowl show. In fact, he’s trying to finish up songs for his new album in between all of his other commitments and budy schedule:
“We’ve been working very, very diligently on new music. And we have 45 songs. It’s just a matter of finishing said songs. And the schedule has been so very busy. So we’re working and working, but there will be new music by then… Allegedly.”
He clarified:
“Allegedly a hundred percent maybe, definitely.”
But of course, many artists would dream about headlining the Super Bowl halftime, especially someone who is as big of an NFL fan as he is (Posty is a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan), and of course, when asked about the chance to do it one day, he said he:
“Would love to.”
And I truly don’t understand why it hasn’t happened already…
Post isn’t decidedly country, but as we all know, he’s been in the genre for a couple years now and has had a ton of success with it, notably releasing his debut country record F-1 Trillion last year which included tons of stars like the three other people on this list in Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen.
Outside of country, Post has a huge career in rap, pop and hip hop, and he’s a global superstar that honestly seems like the perfect person for this kind of gig. I think he’s pretty universally beloved (even my mom likes some of his music), and he’s an incredible performer that I think would really bring it for a show of this magnitude. Plus, seeing as almost everyone brings out other artists for features during the Super Bowl show these days, he would have a ton of people to pick from in country and well beyond that with other collabs he’s done over the years.
He makes a ton of sense in terms of what the NFL wants out of their Super Bowl show because of his range and variety, and I would absolutely love to see him get a chance to do it one day.
And he’s ready to say yes, so all the NFL has to do is put out the offer…
Here’s some of his Thanksgiving performance:
