Beccy Cole Signs Off From Saturday Night Country
After half a decade of late-night laughs, legendary interviews and championing Aussie talent, Beccy Cole is handing over the mic on Saturday Night Country.

After five years at the helm of Saturday Night Country, Beccy Cole has announced she’ll be stepping away from hosting duties at the end of the month.
Cole took over the much loved ABC Country program in 2021 and quickly made it her own, winning over listeners with her trademark wit, warmth and great taste in music. Whether you were tuning in for the latest country tracks or sticking around for the stories behind the songs, Cole had a way of making the show feel like a chat with an old mate, and that mate just happened to know everyone in the industry.
During her time on Saturday Night Country, Cole interviewed some of the biggest names in global country music, with recent highlights including international stars Shania Twain and Chris Stapleton. At the same time, she remained a fierce advocate for Australian artists, consistently spotlighting emerging local talent and helping shape the sound of the genre during a major country music boom.
Reflecting on her time with the program, Cole said: “After 5 years of loving every minute of hosting Saturday Night Country, I feel it’s time to make room for a new voice. I have enjoyed presenting the program during the great country music boom and I am musically richer for all the artists I have discovered and immersed myself in during my time at ABC Country. I’ll miss sharing new gems and old favourites with our treasured listeners and, of course, the great yarns I had with Country superstars across the globe. I am so grateful for my time at ABC and Saturday Night Country and the fabulous team I’ve worked with.”
Cole’s final show will air on February 28, with the incoming presenter to be announced shortly. Saturday Night Country airs every Saturday from 9pm–12am AEDT on ABC Country, ABC Local Radio and the ABC listen app.
