Unhappy Coach on ‘The Voice’ Reportedly Quits Following Season Finale

Singing contest TV shows like American Idol and The Voice can be frustrating. When you watch every week to cheer someone on and then they get eliminated, it’s disappointing. Maybe Michael Buble, a coach on The Voice, was feeling that way after the season 28 finale. The victor was Aiden Ross. He was “Niall Horan’s finalist,” according to the U.S. Sun. That outcome may have been a let-down for Buble. The singer has allegedly quit his coaching role on the show, perhaps for several reasons.
Per the outlet, an anonymous source said, “Michael [Buble] has already said that he’s done with the show after this season. It will be a big loss since he’s beloved there. Michael loves the show, he loves the crew, and it seems like he loves his job,”
Buble Was Reportedly Displeased With Some Aspects of His Role
Per the outlet, the popular Canadian crooner, 50, disliked being far from home and loved ones so much. He also reportedly had a hard time dealing with harsh blowback from fans online. Added the source, “He said the fans’ negative comments have taken a toll on him and he needs to step away and take some time for himself and his family.”
He Had a Rough Last Night
But those reasons may not account in full for Buble’s supposed exit from the show. He appeared “off-key and lost” when he sang on the season ender. Also, Buble was apparently distressed when he and his finalist, Max Chambers, sang. Someone on set evidently shared that the singer complained that the band was excessively loud, drowning out his and Chambers’ performance.
A source confided, “Michael seemed upset and not himself. Not sure if he was nervous or sick, but it was an off night for him for sure.”
He Seemed to Announce His Leave-Taking
Buble gave some distinct hints that he was doing his last show on The Voice. Per the outlet, at one point on the first show of the two-part finale, Buble said emotionally, “This is my last time here.”
