Who is country superstar Kane Brown’s talented wife Katelyn? She paused her music career to support her husband, but now works in the industry, has a wine brand, and sang on his song ‘Thank God’

Country superstar Kane Brown, 31, is no stranger to breaking records. “Haunted”, a duet with fellow country star Jelly Roll from the former’s new album The High Road, took the No 4 spot on Billboard’s Country Digital Songs Sales chart this week.

Before that, Brown made history by topping all five of Billboard’s major country charts at the same time – a feat never previously achieved – and his 2018 album Experiment hit No 1 on Billboard to make him the first country artist in 24 years to take the top spot with a sophomore album.

But amid all his success, Brown says it’s his love for his family and friends that keeps him grounded. While wrapping up his In The Air tour late last year, he opened up to Country Living about what life’s been like juggling stardom, community service and raising three little ones with wife Katelyn Jae Brown, 32.

Katelyn and Kane married in 2018 and have since built a family while finding ways to collaborate on musical projects. “I keep telling everybody she’s my secret weapon,” Kane told the outlet.

She has a degree in music business

After being wait-listed by Berklee College of Music, Katelyn briefly attended Pennsylvania’s West Chester University for a year before leaving to pursue music full-time. She even landed a management deal, and her musical career looked set to take off.

However, after meeting Kane, she put her music career on hold to join him on tour, but stayed involved in the industry. “I fell in love with the business side,” she shared in a 2019 interview with Berklee Online. That same year, she earned her degree from Berklee College of Music’s online music business programme.

Per People, in May 2021, Katelyn teamed up with Aussie brand Amore + Sorvete to launch her swimwear collection, modelling the pieces alongside her daughter, Kingsley.

But her entrepreneurial ventures didn’t stop there. By March 2022 she had also entered the food and beverage industry. Her wine brand, Allen Rose, is a hybrid of her and Kane’s middle names, while the drinks, a rosé and pinot gris, are named after the couple’s daughters, Kingsley and Kodi.

The couple met in 2016 when Katelyn attended one of Kane’s shows. Although they didn’t get to talk much, she apparently made an impression on him. “I messaged her on Instagram the next night and said, ‘Hey, when are we going to hang out?’” he told Taste of Country, adding that he flew Katelyn to Nashville the very next day.

But during a 2020 Instagram Live Q&A with Radio.com, Kane revealed he should have met Katelyn a year earlier. She was still pursuing her own music career at the time and Kane was supposed to appear in her 2015 music video. A scheduling conflict with his first show prevented that meeting; fate intervened a year later when the video’s director brought Katelyn to Kane’s show in 2016.

She and Kane got engaged in an unexpected, “weird” way

Kane confessed he popped the question while watching The Amityville Horror, calling it a “weird proposal” and admitting he had a more romantic plan but “just couldn’t wait”, People reports.

On October 12, 2018, the couple tied the knot at Mint Springs Farm in Franklin, Tennessee, with 200 close friends and family present. “We wanted something here in Nashville,” they told People, loving the idea of staying local after so much time on the road. They’re now parents to three kids: daughters Kingsley, five, and Kodi, three, and son Krewe, who’s about nine months old.

She’s worked on musical projects with Kane

The Browns’ first family music project came in 2020 when Katelyn and Kingsley appeared in the music video for Kane’s song “Worship You”.

In 2022, the couple finally gave fans the duet they’d been waiting for. “Thank God” featured on Kane’s third album, Different Man, with Katelyn bringing her strong vocals to the track and making appearances in the music video.

The two even performed the song live together for the first time at Kane’s concert in Ottawa that December. “My baby’s first time on stage singing our song together,” he shared on Instagram. In 2023, the couple also performed the track at the CMT Awards and Stagecoach.
