After leading the Rams to the divisional round of playoffs, Matthew Stafford wants to join the $50 million club with a lucrative contract.

Matthew Stafford has decided to stay with the Los Angeles Rams but on one condition: to join the $50 million/year club. After leading the team to the divisional round of the playoffs, the quarterback has decided to advocate a compensation he believes he deserves.
With two years remaining on his contract with an average annual salary of $40 million, Stafford holds the rank of 15th highest-paid quarterback in the league. However, during the recent episode of “Good Morning Football,” NFL Insider Peter Schrager reported that Stafford wants to rank among the top ten.
This is a money issue, and Matthew Stafford wants to be paid what he thinks he’s worth. He wants to be paid more than $50 million [per year].
Peter Schrager said on Monday
But, the twist is the Rams are not looking to make any lucrative commitments with the 37-year-old signal-caller. That’s why, for the best interest of both parties, they have allowed Stafford and his agent to hear offers from other teams. Fortunately for him, his illustrious resume has allured some teams, who are willing to pay him more than what he makes in Los Angeles.
If the quarterback secures a satisfactory contract offer that includes a $10 million raise, he would catapult into the upper rankings of NFL quarterbacks’ salaries. This would place him alongside some of the league’s highest-paid quarterbacks, including Dak Prescott, who earns $60 million annually.
Kelly Stafford suggests her husband Matthew may leave the Rams if he doesn’t feel valued
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Rich Eisen Show that the priority for the Rams and Stafford is to stay together in the coming 2025 season. However, since the quarterback has only left with $4 million guaranteed money in his contract, he is seeking a deserving contract upgrade. Amid the ongoing contract negotiations, his wife, Kelly Stafford also hinted that Matthew may play elsewhere in 2025.
Right now, if the Rams decided that they wanted to trade him, or Matthew decided he didn’t want to play for the Rams, I’m good. The ball’s really not in our court. … But I value being respected and wanted over convenience. So it would be very convenient to stay. Very easy. But if someone doesn’t feel valued, then I’m, like, ‘Let’s hit the road. Let’s go on an adventure.’
