Louis Tomlinson addresses Harry Styles romance rumors

Singer Louis Tomlinson is once again making headlines, but not for his music. This time, the former One Direction member caught the attention of fans when he liked an Instagram post, only to reverse his action. On Sunday, June 29, Louis liked a fan-made reel featuring him with his former bandmate Harry Styles. The video was set to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ romantic hit Die With A Smile.

In the clip, which probably featured an interview of Louis and Harry back when One Direction was still together, the 33-year-old English singer kept talking while Harry fondly stared at him. “The way Harry looks at him” was written atop the video. Fans were quick to notice that Louis had liked it. But just a few hours later, the like was gone.

Louis had disliked the video, which sent One Direction fans into a frenzy. Some people thought that he might have liked it by mistake. Another section felt it was a quiet way of showing the fans that he still watches such edits made by their ardent fans. Meanwhile, a few once again speculated about Louis’ relationship with Harry. For years, One Direction fans have believed that the duo are more than just friends, giving them the nickname “Larry.” Even though both singers have moved on with their lives and careers, such rumours are far from being over.

In 2024, Louis addressed the rumours that the two singers had secretly dated each other. Speaking to the Brazilian magazine, G1, the singer said that he had given up on denying the rumours, highlighting how people do not want to see the truth. “I’ve realised this some years ago; there’s nothing I can say or do to dispel the believers in that conspiracy,” he said. He further shared that the speculations were intertwined with what people believed to be the truth, to such an extent that they would never see the truth.

Talking about how such rumours can be a little irritating at times, Louis also referred to the infamous Babygate theories that emerged after the birth of his son, Freddie. “At times when it gets far too personal, I have my son, Freddie. He’s the most important person in my life. Occasionally, it kind of broaches some stuff that’s really unfair,” he said.
