Country Singer ‘Definitely’ Owes Lainey Wilson New ‘Pants’ After Unbelievable Onstage Moment

‘If my pants don’t go back to their normal size I’m going to be mad,’ the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee said.

Lainey Wilson

Lainey Wilson has concluded her highly ambitious 2025 Whirlwind tour, named after her current album. The run came to a close on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.

On the final night of the trek, Wilson, 33, called on fellow country star and good friend Ernest to join her onstage for their collaboration of “What If I Could.” To her surprise, Ernest looked, well, just like her. The “Flower Shops” singer, 33, stepped out wearing borrowed clothes from Wilson’s concert closet, which she keeps on her tour bus.

Lainey Wilson’s Reaction to the Prank Was Priceless

Wilson’s reaction toward Ernest’s imitation of her, as well as her mirrored look, was priceless.

“You are wild!” she told him, as seen in the TikTok video below, before telling the audience. “He got that off my bus, literally, those pants and that jacket is from my bus. I’m gonna kill him!”

“Honestly, you look more like Lainey Wilson than Lainey Wilson looks like Lainey Wilson,” the “Watermelon Moonshine” hitmaker added as she began to examine her collaborator front to back. “You gotta start doing squats. You’re trying to keep up. Ernest, I can’t believe you’re doing this right now. If my pants don’t go back to their normal size, I’m going to be mad as hell.”

While Wilson noted that she thought Ernest looked “good” in his “fit,” she joked that maybe his singing voice would be even better.

“I definitely owe you a pair of pants,” Ernest admitted before adding, “I feel better than I thought I would.”

Ernest Highlighted the Moment on Instagram

“Wrapped up this tour with @laineywilson last night. I don’t know what it’s like to walk a mile in her shoes, but I DO know what it’s like to walk to stage in her pants….,” Ernest wrote via Instagram on Sunday, Nov. 9, commemorating the hilarious moment with a round of photos from the evening. “Thank you, Lainey, for being so good to us and sharing ur fans with us. Hope to see y’all soon! 👑.”

Even though her tour has wrapped, Wilson is still busy. In just a few days, she will serve as host for the 59th annual CMA Awards, which air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Wilson is up for several awards, including the coveted CMA Entertainer of the Year award, which is given out at the end of the show. Other nominees in that category include Luke CombsChris StapletonMorgan Wallen, and Cody Johnson.
