Lainey Wilson Reveals If She Will Wear Bell-Bottoms for Her Wedding

Lainey Wilson is synonymous with bell bottom jeans at this point. She came in the country music game with her trademark pants and it made her distinct from the rest of the pack. From there, all she had to do was deliver with some killer tunes.

Safe to say, Wilson has surpassed being just the crooner with the bell bottoms. Still, that image and likeness sticks with her, to the point where people are wondering if she’ll bust out her signature pants for her big wedding day. Now, it seems like she has an answer.

Recently, Lainey spoke with Kelleigh Bannen for her show on Apple Music. There, she discusses her bell bottom jeans and marrying her fiancé Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges. The burning question is: will she stay true to her brand and bust out her signature pants for her big day? Ultimately, Wilson is sticking to tradition on this one. “I’m going to wear a dress,” Lainey declares. “I hadn’t done the whole dress shopping. We haven’t even picked a date or anything like that. We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”

That’s not to say WIlson is hanging up the bell bottoms for good. In an interview with PEOPLE back in 2024, she emphasizes how those jeans help her stand out from the rest of the pack. “A few years in [to her music career], I realized pretty quickly that as a decent female singer-songwriter, that’s not enough. I needed to do something that made me stand out and stand apart,” Lainey stresses.

For a while, she would doubt whether or not she was doing the right thing. Some people looked at it as just another gimmick. However, Wilson remained true to her vision and it obviously pays off for her. “There were times where people looked at me crazy, thinking, ‘What in the world are you doing? Looks like you stepped out of the ’70s.’ But I just kept doing it because I believed in it,” Lainey explains. “I believed that eventually if you throw something against the wall long enough that it will stick.”
