Lainey Wilson revealed how she plans to raise her and fiancé Delvin “Duck” Hodges’ kids on an episode of ‘This Past Weekend With Theo Von’.

Amidst wedding planning and being one of the hottest names in country music, Lainey Wilson hardly has any time. It would be crazy to think that Wilson even has time to think about what’s next, especially her future kids. However, on an episode of This Past Weekend With Theo Von, Wilson told Theo that basically, she’s got it all planned out.

Wilson shared with Von that she plans to have specific rules regarding social media in her house. “I want to raise my kids like [I was raised], playing in the dirt,” she said. “I just want them to be outside and do things we grew up doing. You know what I’m saying? And just enjoy those things.”

The singer recalled a memory of going out to eat with her fiancé and some of the teenagers he coaches. She said that two of the boys stood out to her in their mannerisms, mainly because they actually could carry on a conversation.

“They were just, for 17-year-olds, carrying on great conversations, making eye contact — you could tell they were raised right,” she says. “And then I realized, they said they had never had social media.”

We have to admit that Wilson has a valid point. She wants her kids to be polite and well-raised, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Lainey Wilson Talks Staying in Nashville, and Finding Time To Plan

Lainey told Theo that if she were going to raise her kids anywhere, she’d probably stay in Nashville. “I think Nashville is just a good spot. Even if music wasn’t a thing, I think they’ve got good schools,” Wilson said. “And I feel like you can go far out right now — you can go far out enough on any side and feel like you’re in the country, you know?”

Wilson recently got engaged to Delvin “Duck” Hodges, whom she has been dating for about four years. Duck popped the question in February of this year, and Wilson still hasn’t had time to get around to planning the wedding. She told Theo, “I’m making [Delvin] wait. He made me wait, so I’m making him wait.” Her fiancé was an NFL quarterback from 2019 to 2022, but he now works in real estate. As both are career-focused individuals, finding time to spend together as a couple can be challenging.

“You have to carve out the time definitely,” Wilson has said of their relationship. “It has to be something that you’re very aware of, and you’re like, ‘Okay, I’ve got a day off here in 10 days. I’ve got to dedicate that day to spend time with my person.’ ”

With Lainey currently filling up seats on her Whirlwind World Tour, which goes until early 2026, it doesn’t look like she’s going to have a lot of time to think about anything else. The calendar for 2027 is filling up fast, leaving fewer and fewer dates for Lainey to use for a wedding. We hope she figures out a date soon; otherwise, it might be another four years before we get to see a wedding from Wilson and Hodges, and quite a while before kids are ever in the picture.
