From “Yellowstone” to the CMAs, country music star Lainey Wilson has certainly built a successful career for herself.
However, as she shared during an appearance on RFD TV, she still gives kudos to those who helped her along the way and wants to help others achieve their career goals, too.
Speaking about the advice she received from stars like Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert, Wilson said: “Those ladies have had such unique and long careers, and I think it’s because of the wisdom that was passed along to them, and now they’re passing along to me.” In the spirit of paying such wisdom forward to the newest crop of musicians, Wilson also shared some advice of her own for singers in the early stages of fame.
Wilson Urged Fellow Singers to Savor the Moment

When speaking with RFD TV, Wilson explained that she considers two rising country stars her friends: Megan Moroney and Ella Langley. With them in mind, she encouraged singers at the beginning of their careers to live in the moment. “Do whatever you gotta do to soak it in and celebrate these times,” Wilson said, adding that singers should also be ready to jump into the next great moment at any time.
Ultimately, the singer boiled her thoughts down into a single, valuable piece of advice for Moroney, Langley, and other up-and-coming country stars. “Keep your head down and work hard,” Wilson said. “But also…acknowledge that their hard work has gotten them to this point…and [don’t let] the voices of the world get them down.”
Wilson Has Also Praised Langley and Moroney in Other Interviews

Her conversation with RFD TV isn’t the only time Wilson has spoken in favor of Langley and Moroney. In a March 2025 TikTok video Holler posted, Wilson gave Langley props after finding out she had received 8 ACM nominations. “I see a lot of myself in Ella. We really are great friends.” Wilson went on to say that she is proud of Langley’s accomplishments and is happy to see the industry rewarding a fellow hard-working female singer.
Wilson has also highlighted Langley and Moroney as two hopeful examples of female songwriters in the country genre. When speaking to Country Now, Wilson shared that the future looks bright, but the female singer-songwriter road isn’t an easy one to take. “There are so many talented women who can write the hell out of a song,” she said. “I hope it keeps growing. But it’s still a challenge – I’m still navigating it myself.”
